In this role you will ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Peaking Plant assets through a focus on operational excellence and integrating 'Safety from the System' principles.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead by example in safety and quality, consistently demonstrating BGE values on site.
- Collaborate across teams to build a strong safety and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with regulations and licenses.
- Manage the day-to-day interactions between the Peaking Plant O&M Team and the Operations Team in a separate Energy Management Centre that will remotely operate and monitor the Dublin and Athlone Peaking Power Plants and other energy assets in Ireland, UK, and Europe.
- Manage and report operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and lead all operational event investigations to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement projects.
- Develop and own all operational and emergency response procedures. Act as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), ensuring safe systems of work and managing permits.
- Coordinate safety across systems and boundaries, including Eirgrid and GNI interfaces.
Here's who we're looking for:
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Experience in the operation of Energy Assets and SCADA control systems.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, and cyber security concepts, as relevant to Industrial Control Systems and the interfaces with other plant systems and corporate networks would be advantageous.
- Strong data analytical skills with experience on OSI PI Systems, Power BI and Excel.
- Proven track record in the sourcing, combining, analysing and presentation of large datasets.
- Experience in incident management and managing root cause investigations and tracking actions to completion.

The Operations Support Engineer
works within the Technology directorate responding to the management system team and Integrated System team.
Responsible for coordinating system installations and/or upgrades at customer sites, working collaboratively with suppliers and operators to actively resolve technical issues with all systems;
- Responsible for addressing all service-related issues at operator sites, included (but not limited to) troubleshooting minor software problems, firmware upgrade, hardware troubleshooting, providing training to customers and new operations personnel;

We seek a Customer Operations Engineer to join our SymphonyAI Financial Services team, based in Dublin.
As a key member of the SymphonyAI Financial Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of our SaaS solutions. You will work closely with engineering and customer success teams to provide world-class support, manage incidents, and drive continuous service improvements. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining high service standards and enhancing client satisfaction.
Job Description
What You'll Do
- Monitor and maintain the health of SaaS environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, problems, and service requests within agreed SLAs to maintain client service standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews for major outages, contributing to service improvement strategies.
- Implement and manage changes to cloud environments following ITIL best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize observability and monitoring tools like DataDog and PagerDuty to identify and respond to service degradations proactively.
What You'll Bring
- Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure (preferred) and/or AWS cloud platforms.
- Database Skills: Hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and Oracle administration and optimization.
- Containerization Knowledge: Experience with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in observability and incident response tools like DataDog and PagerDuty.
- ITIL Familiarity: Familiarity with ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
- Managed Services Experience: Experience working in Managed Services or SaaS Support environments.
