We are looking on behalf of our client for a HVAC Design Engineer to support the design and development of specialized HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support design concepts for air handling and cooling units.
  • Select and verify components such as coils, compressors, fans, dampers, actuators, filters, and louvres.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including datasheets, drawings, manuals, and critical parts lists.
  • Assist with technical submissions and specification reviews.
  • Ensure designs meet project requirements and maintain quality across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with production teams to integrate designs into manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Degree in the Mechanical, HVAC engineering field.
  • 2+ years' experience in HVAC design and component selection, preferably in manufacturing.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.

As a

reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible to develop and refine product designs, bridging the gap between concept and deployment while achieving product cost targets. Utilize CAD and CAE software to create models, conduct research, and pre-production designs. Ensure products are functional, meet stakeholder requirements and are cost-effective. To be successful in this role the design engineer has a strong understanding of the products, raw materials, and technically competent the manufacturing process. Design for Manufacturing is a primary focus along with understanding the needs of the customer with regards to product requirements and plays a key role in bringing innovative ideas to life.

This Role Is Responsible For

  • Create and refine product designs from initial concept to product approval.
  • Review Design Verification, Validation (DVP&R) test results and ensures the design and pre-series phases of the project.
  • Identify design problems, anticipate production issues and make recommendations for improvement during the DFMEA and PFMEA process.
  • Following the design for manufacturing methodology make sure that the product you're working on is designed in a way that makes it possible to build.
  • Utilize specific CAD and CAE software to create models and update designs accordingly.
  • Work in cross-functional and global teams to ensure successful product development.
  • Maintain records of designs, test results and other relevant information used to improve future product designs.
  • Identify and resolve design issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Be environmentally and socially astute, always considering opportunities to reduce carbon footprint and support community activities/events.
  • Proactively interface with other departments; sales, quality, production, and purchasing.
  • Align with CMMC AT. L2-3.2.1, 3.2.2, and 3.2.3, this role involves access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) at the highest security level. The individual must perform all assigned tasks in a manner that ensures no exposure of unclassified information to unauthorized personnel.
  • Successful completion of all required ITAR, CMMC, and Cybersecurity training is mandatory

Your Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from a four-year college or university.
  • 3+ years of direct related technical experience in engine thermal management experience preferred.
  • CAD design experience in Catia v5 and CAE Simulation.
