**Job Description Summary**
The Operations Technician is responsible for a safe and efficient operation of the Power Station, according to the Grid Company demands and the contract with the Customer, taking emergency action, where necessary. The Operator will be working in the field and the control room.
**Job Description**
As Operator you report to the Operations Shift Leader and:
+ To operate and monitor the, Distributed Control System, HMI, Continuous Emissions Monitoring, and all other control room and station control systems in order to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the plant and process
+ Ensure compliance with all site Quality Procedures, Work Instructions and EHS Policy and Procedures
+ Ensure Station operates within customers PPA limits
+ Understand and respond to variances in normal station operating parameters and take necessary corrective actions in order to maintain safe operation of the station from the control room or in the field
+ Monitor plant and process to ensure that operation is in accordance with all relevant Operating Procedures
+ Perform operations monitoring rounds in the field and support the maintenance of the equipment with routine interventions
+ Monitor and follow all generating profiles as dispatched via the grid control center, and follow all (National) grid control center instructions
+ Report items beyond the scope and capabilities of shift personnel to Shift Supervisor
+ Maintain and update all routines, schedules and reports with relevant plant operating data
+ Report unsafe conditions, events and hazards to the Shift Supervisor
+ Assist in routine testing of plant and equipment
+ Report equipment deficiencies and record required information into the computerized maintenance management system to direct repairs
+ Follow Operating Procedures and work instructions when carrying out any activity and report any deficiencies when identified
Qualifications / Requirements:
+ Practical Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical)
+ Substantial experience as an Operator, preferably in a Power Station
+ Fluent in the local language and in English (both verbal and written)
+ Able to learn fast and work independently
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
+ Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions when needed
+ Willingness to work in hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays GE Aero Power Plant Experience is a benefit.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills able to communicate in a friendly, open and constructive manner
+ Highly organized
+ Responsive and pro-active
+ Flexible and calm
+ Detail conscious
+ Operating Distributed Control Systems & HMI
+ Plant water chemistry knowledge

Position: Wastewater Treatment Plant & Utilities Technician (Mechanical) Department: Operations Location: Kilbrew, Ashbourne, Co. Meath Role Type: Full time - Permanent Shift: Day shift (Monday - Thursday 7am - 3pm, Friday 7am - 2pm) Role overview: Reporting to the Factory Site Maintenance Manager the WWTP & Utilities Technician will work as part of the utilities group responsible for the operation and maintenance of all the WWTP process steps and utilities systems on site including continuous improvements and CapEx projects. As a Utilities Technician, you will have the responsibility of supporting the WWTP and Utilities teams with day-to-day maintenance support, plant operation and administration tasks. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance support for the WWTP and plant central utilities, including boreholes and mains water supply/mains LV electrical supply/gas supply/compressed air network system/steam generator/CHP unit/back-up generators/asset protection system/fire alarm system/ gas and CO detection system/ BMS/EV charging stations/lighting systems/HVAC system Observe all safety and compliance procedures and actively highlight any safety concerns to help drive the reduction of accidents or near misses Assist the Health Safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new and existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team Recognize and report to immediate Manager any facility, utility, process, or equipment anomalies and/or deviations from accepted standards Manage and support the Utilities Lead Technician on all service contracts for the WWTP and site utilities, liaising with contractors during site visits Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and role-specific training Ensure Preventive Maintenance software systems (Pemac) is managed and up to date with contractors' information and utilities service reports Lead multiple CapEx projects across the site Provide technical input into system optimisation, equipment development and new equipment selection for CapEx projects Provide status updates on maintenance activities and operational challenges according to defined procedures Seek process innovation and continuous process improvement in overall plant areas eg. Science Based Targets (GHG emissions reduction) Ensure corrective action is taken, as required, for all equipment and operational problems to drive continuous improvement in the plant Develop/update SOP's /OPL's as required for WWTP and utilities operations Co-ordinate and manage scheduled shutdown activities on utilities and WWTP plant equipment Key member of the Energy Management and Water Conservation Group Teams while supporting the utilities technician with new energy initiative projects Maintenance and administration support for the WWTP operation team Ensure compliance with energy standard ISO 50001, health and safety standard OHSAS 18001 and environmental standard ISO 14001 Any other duties asked by your manager Skills and Experience: Skilled in mechanical discipline Experienced in all types of welding Experience with managing CapEx Projects from start to completion Experience with Medium and Low Voltage electrical systems including testing and inspection is desirable Have working knowledge/ experience with a "Lock -out Tag-out" programme Ability to create mechanical drawings and file Experience with SCADA and BMS systems Experience with Preventive Maintenance software system (Pemac) Experienced in process control and motor wiring and testing Understanding of compressed air network systems and operation Understanding of wastewater treatment plant process flows and operations Experience with water treatment processes for treatment of iron, hardness etc Understanding of fire alarm systems and ability to read address layout, graphics display and detection values Strong communication and influencing skills Pro-active and comfortable with challenging current practices and processes Willing to be part of team and support colleagues when required Strong IT skills with Word, Excel MS etc If you feel you have the skills and experience to apply for this role, please do so by applying online before Friday 8th August 2025.
