Staff Nurses Residential Services - Full-time Positions available in Louth, Meath and Monaghan Successful applicants should have: A relevant Third Level Qualification in Nursing (Preferably RNID) and be maintained on the current register with the NMBI.

A full clean driving license.

Experience in person centred planning; capacity building, social inclusion, positive behaviour supports, community development, advocacy and empowerment are desirable Possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of HIQA and relevant legislation An ability to facilitate and support service-users in a variety of service and community based programmes.

An ability to identify and support opportunities for building people's natural support networks and social roles.

An understanding of and ability to utilise alternative communication aids and assistive technology.

Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal and organisational skills with an ability to work on own initiative and be flexible.

A natural ability to listen, consider, support and advocate for people supported by Northeast Services.

Job Title: Enhanced Staff Nurse (ICU) Department: Intensive Care Unit Reports to: ICU Nurse Manager Date: 2025 Overall Purpose of Job Provide professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients while providing exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the center of all we do.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables Willingness to champion and promote the advancement of technology to enhance the organisation of nursing and delivery of patient care.

This may include, but not limited to a Train the Trainer role in the context of Patient Records, Safe Staffing Framework and Dependency Acuity tools.

Willingness to act as a Link Nurse where required and carry out the duties in relation to same e.g.

report writing, data collection, meeting attendance, peer support, training and education, facilitated through rostering by local ward management.

Lead / participate in unit specific and hospital wide quality improvement projects.

Undertakes the collection, input and analysis of data as outlined in the quality improvement projects or as designated by the CNM 3 / Clinical Facilitator / CNM 2 /Assistant Director of Nursing / Director of Nursing.

Where determined as a service requirement, willingness to pursue, relevant education and training to enhance scope of practice, for example the Advanced Patient Assessment Skills course.

Actively promote and support new services, developments or the implementation of strategies.

This will be tailored to business requirements locally and will be the subject of proactive consultation.

Deputise for CNM 2 / Clinical Co-Ordinator on a short-term basis for purposes of covering short-term commitments where required.

Clinical Responsibilities To undertake the duty of the Enhanced Staff Nurse (ICU), providing physical and psychological care to Beacon Patients.

Monitors and promotes high standards of nursing care and documentation, as per Beacon Hospital policy.

Demonstrates proficient specialist skills and knowledge in ICU clinical practice.

Demonstrates proficiency in the use of all equipment used in the care and management of critically ill patients in ICU and can demonstrate / explain their use to junior staff.

Work within professional guidelines as laid down by NMBI Code of Conduct for Nurses.

Carry out all Nursing practice in accordance with Beacon Hospital Policies; including the care, control and administration of medicines.

Foster a learning environment for the benefit of staff.

Assist less experienced staff to develop their skills in nursing.

Support senior members of staff, Clinical Facilitator, CNM 2, CNM 3 Participates in ongoing implementation and practice of Clinical Governance / Clinical Risk Management specifically to ICU.

Managerial Responsibilities Deputise for the CNM2/Clinical Coordinator in their absence.

Actively reports incidents and encourages reporting of incidents for Quality Management.

Be aware of the hazards which can occur within the Department, i.e.

electrical, chemical and transport, and initiate preventative measures.

Monitor and supervise the safe maintenance of equipment; reporting problems to the Clinical Coordinator or her deputy.

Participate in the Joint Commissioning accreditation (JCI) process Involvement in preparing the hospital for JCI survey.

Acts as a resource within ICU to provide and ensure senior nursing support.

Promotes effective inter-professional teamwork to optimise patient care, staff development and support.

Personal & Professional Responsibilities Acts as a proficient practitioner and an effective role model.

Takes part in staff orientation, preceptorship and educational programmes, assessing competence as required.

Maintain and update own knowledge continuously, and participate in on-going education.

Participates in individual performance reviews annually.

Discuss any problems or potential problems with the Clinical Coordinator, Clinical facilitator, CNM 3 Such other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned from time to time by the Hospital authority through the Director of Nursing Services.

Educational Responsibilities Keep up to date with mandatory training such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Moving and Manual Handling, Mandatory Training.

Participates in quality and audit programmes Act as the named preceptor to new staff / Student Nurses as allocated by the Clinical Facilitator / CNM 2 / CNM 3.

To complete additional Enhanced Staff Nurse ICU competencies as required.

You may be required to work in any service area as the need arises.

Identifies and pursues own educational and professional development, maintaining a balance between clinical practice and acquisition of educational and management skills.

Qualifications NMBI Registered General Nurse Registration - Essential Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Essential Post Graduate Qualification in Critical Care - Desirable Preceptorship Essential ACLS Desirable Experience Minimum of 5 years Cardiothoracic or Surgical ICU experience Evidence of positive contribution to intensive care Preceptor to adult critical care course student Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge Demonstrate experience in mentorship/preceptorship.

Have proven clinical and professional managerial ability.

It is desirable that the candidate has a teaching and assessing course, basic IT skills and experience in presentation skills.

Have a strong commitment to pre and post registration nurse education.

Demonstrate the practice of teaching in the clinical area.

Display evidence of continuing professional development.

Computer skills essential.
