Key job responsibilities
- Perform detailed power system studies, including load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, and transient stability analysis, using advanced software tools

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in power system analysis and design
- Proficiency in using power system analysis software, such as ETAP, PSSE, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSCAD.

SEEA is working with various stakeholders in the domestic, public, private & community sectors to provide independent brokering, technical support and advice.
An Energy Engineers role is to assist with the delivery of contracts in areas including energy management, energy auditing, grant coordination and project management of energy efficiency and renewable projects in domestic and non-domestic sectors. This role involves working across all internal teams and with external stakeholders to ensure transfer of knowledge of national policy, programmes and grants to maximise the delivery of climate actions, to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and enhance the comfort and sustainability of citizens across the Region.
- Performing energy engineering evaluations, performing proficient energy analysis using appropriate analytical tools
- Implementing, monitoring and analysing energy savings of projects using IPMVP in measurement and verification (M&V)
- Completing Energy Efficient Design (EED) reviews.

Reporting and Documentation
- Report directly to the Section Lead, and regularly update on all operational aspects of the assigned projects, including progress of deliverables, resources, budgets, and risks
- Ensure the timely submission of technical reports to the Client
- Regularly update the Team Lead on all engagement aspects of projects, including progress, deliverables, and resources
- Maintain contact databases, meeting notes and action trackers
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across all sectors relevant to SEEA's work
- Liaising with clients, design teams and architects on strategic project delivery
- Collaborate with the SEEA Support Office, Communications and Marketing Team, and Technical Team.
- Foster and maintain team spirit within the Organisation
- Attend SEEA project-related events when requested, and provide support as needed

The Ideal Candidate
Each Candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the position have:
- 2H1 Graduate (Level 8) Degree in Energy Engineering or related discipline (Mech, Elec, Civil, Arch, Build Services, Environment etc.)
- Have clear understanding and knowledge of National carbon emission requirements, public sector targets & obligations in relation to energy & carbon reduction
- Minimum 3 years' experience in at least two of the following sustainable energy disciplines:
o Public Sector Energy Management Services (Energy MAP &/or ISO50001)
o Energy Auditing – public sector buildings
o Bill Analysis & Financial modelling (Cost benefit analysis)
o Building fabric and M&E retrofit management
o Technical Specification
- Excellent interpersonal & Client communications skills.

Desirable Experience / Qualifications
- Level 9 Masters/PhD in energy related area.

What you will do
You will support the Local Authority Energy Management team in the delivery of all energy management practices across the local authorities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of clients needs and build relationships with relevant key stakeholders
● Aid in implementation and maintaining current ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems which involves
o Attending Energy Teams meetings & workshops with Significant Energy Users (SEU) owners in each of the local authorities
o Generate energy performance reports for SEU's in line with ISO 50001 requirements
o Identify energy saving projects that can be evaluated by the energy team and incorporated on the Register of Opportunities (ROO) & Action Plans.
● Aid in all monitoring and reporting requirements for the local authorities which involves the
o Maintenance of M&R database for SEAI (MPRNs, GPRNs, Unmetered Public Lighting, Fleet fuel, other machine fuels)
o Collection and sorting of all data annually in consultation with the relevant Local Authority departments
o Annual Monitoring & Reporting to SEAI & data verification
o Identification of potential energy efficiency projects on an ongoing basis
● Aid in the implementation of energy efficiency measures for the local authorities
● Analyse energy usage in buildings and energy systems
● Measurement and Verification of energy project savings
● Collaborate with other Codema teams
● Undertake any other duties as may be required to support implementation of Codema's Strategy
Minimum requirements
● Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role
● Degree in Engineering, Building Services or equivalent (Minimum NFQ Level 7 or 8)
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and quantify energy saving opportunities
● Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to guide, actively listen and influence others
● Ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
● Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
● Technical report writing skills and ability to communicate findings to a non-technical audience
● Fluency in English is essential
