Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Indirect Materials & Operational Support**
+ Coordinate consumables planning with suppliers and operational teams.
+ Monitor and manage indirect inventory levels to ensure availability
+ Review and approve indirect material requisitions in line with internal processes.
+ Support departments with requisition creation, issue resolution, and site project requirements.
+ Assist with goods receipt and confirmation processes to ensure timely and accurate records.
**Invoice & Supplier Coordination**
+ Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.
+ Facilitate supplier set up process in coordination with Procurement, Finance, Supplier Quality, and Master Data Governance.
**Documentation & Process Support**
+ Maintain and update procedures and documentation for the Purchasing/Logistics team, providing flexible operational support where needed.
**Reporting & Analysis**
+ Analyze supply chain data and maintain key reports (open orders, invoice tracking, indirect inventory) to support operational efficiency.
+ Provide insights and recommendations that inform purchasing decisions and strategies
**Qualifications & Skills**
+ Relevant 3rd level education
+ Experience in supply chain operations, materials planning, and purchasing/buying; a strong background in purchasing, particularly in indirect materials or site operations, is highly desirable.
+ Strong analytical and reporting skills; proficiency in Excel, Word, or similar tools. Experience with Power BI is a plus.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
+ Ability to work flexibly across to support evolving operational needs.

Purpose:

**Job Description**
**Supply Chain Specialist, Supply Chain**
The Senior Supply Chain Specialist will play a key role as part of the GSIUC Planning group within Materials Management department. He/She will support the function in playing a key role in executing the Supply Planning processes for the portfolio worked through GSIUC Operations. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient scheduling of manufacturing operations, aligning production plans with inventory, quality and API availability. The successful candidate will work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Warehouse, API team, Quality and Global planning to ensure timely and compliant execution of production schedules. The role will also contribute to continuation of development of processes across the function.
The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of supply chain management and ERP systems.
The successful candidate will be required to work across organizational, cultural and geographic boundaries to optimize company strategic results.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Partner with Operations teams to develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on the locked MPS
+ Responsible for maintaining control and hygiene of the frozen period
+ Collaborate closely with Manufacturing to align schedules with capacity and operational constraints
+ Coordinate with warehouse and API teams to ensure timely availability of API.
+ Liaise wih Quality to incorporate testing and release timelines into production plans
+ Update and communicate schedule changes to relevant stakeholders. Manage schedule breaks for the area.
+ Support planning team with data analysis and reporting as needed and responsible as backup scheduler to the primary packaging area.
+ Ensure compliance with GMP and other regulatory requirements. Manage any change controls, deviations or CAPAS as needed.

+ Create business cases for identified process improvements and solutions
+ Use informal management skills to work with cross-functional groups and contractors to ensure successful and timely deliverables
**Experience & Qualifications:**
+ Primary degree in Business, Science or Engineering discipline. Master's degree and/or professional qualifications in supply chain management desired.
+ Lean/Six Sigma certification and APICS CPIM and CSCP certifications preferred
+ 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management with a proven track record in MPS, production planning or related roles.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment highly desirable
+ Deep supply chain knowledge with an ability to identify and analyze and summarize business problems in the end to end context and pull the key stakeholders together to form cross functional responses.
+ Proficiency in Supply Chain planning software (e.g. SAP, Kinaxis RR)
+ Experience managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners.
+ Demonstrates a collaborative mindset, nurtures teamwork and influences cross-functionally.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication including strong presentation and group speaking skills
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Excellent project management skills
+ Excellent analytical skills - ability to manage large datasets
+ Must have a desire to learn new business operations and have a continuous improvement mindset
