Meissner is seeking a Production Operator for evening shift to join the manufacturing team at the Castlebar, Co.Mayo facility and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.
How you will make an impact:
- Manufactures SUPS according to design specifications which will be communicated via engineering drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Interfaces with computers/software which facilitates all phases of production activity including tracking of production order status, electronic batch record generation, lot control, inventory control, etc.
- Reads SOPs to properly perform necessary manufacturing operations.
- Adjusts machine settings according to SOPs.
- Initiates welding cycle of various pieces of machinery involved in production of single-use biocontainers.
- Examines and tests single-use products at various stages of production, according to SOPs, to detect nonstandard or defective assemblies.
- Maintains meticulous records of production and defects.
- Visually inspects all finished product for adherence to design specifications as well as packaging and labeling accuracy.
- Participates in packaging/shipping of all finished product.
- Observes automatic machinery and notifies supervisor and/or quality of any irregularities.
- Cleans equipment at various stages of production.
The skills and experience you'll need:
- Experience with cleanroom manufacturing is desired.
- Experience working in a regulated industry is beneficial.
- Basic computer skills are essential with ability to quickly learn customized software applications.
- Must have strong English Language written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to record production results.
- A personal commitment to produce the highest quality product possible is essential.
Work Environment
SUPS production is performed in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment. Powder free gloves, face masks, hairnets, cleanroom suits ("bunny suits") and shoe covers must be worn. Shorts, loose or baggy clothing is not permitted. Makeup, hair styling products, soiled, fuzzy or frayed clothing must not be worn into the cleanroom. Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette and these particles will damage our products, only nonsmokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom. As a result, the successful candidate must be a nonsmoker.

Responsible, in conjunction with the immediate supervisor for shift output, quality and yield in
compliance with the requirements of current Good Manufacturing Practice.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all product produced conforms to the approved specification.
- All materials required for the batch are booked in and documented
accurately and conform to the packaging instruction & batch packaging
record.
- Sampling tests are carried out at the required frequency.
- Visual inspections are carried out at required frequencies.
- Liaise with the QA dept. for support in area / line clearances along with
any other specific quality issues which may arise during production.
- Approval of area / line clearances and pre-production samples as
required as per defined procedures.
- QC samples are collected as per the batch packaging record.
- Ensure consistent adherence to operating, quality and machine cleaning
and safety procedures in production.
- Deviations are reported to the immediate supervisor.
- Yields are being monitored versus goals & timely corrective actions are
being taken.
- Machine downtime is being actioned in a timely fashion.
- Achieve the desired level of competency as per the relevant training plan.
- Ensure that all batch packaging records are completed accurately in a timely manner.
- Ensure that quantities of good & rejects are accurately recorded.
- Ensure excellence in Housekeeping and that cleaning logbooks, LUMAC logs and
other production-floor logs are completed and kept up to date
- Work positively with all Team Leaders, Engineers and Packaging Manager/ Business
Unit Manager at all times.
- Ensure safe work practices are being followed at all times and report any defects
immediately to the Safety Officer / Packaging Manager/ Business Unit Manager.
- This role demands flexibility to changes in shift patterns at short notice.
- Carry out various other additional tasks that may be required from time to time in
accordance with the overall goal of the company.
- Assist in all technical aspects and projects as and when required by the Packaging
Manager.
