Job Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of Engineering projects on time, on budget & in accordance with all project & business Safety & Quality goals.
- Scope new Engineering projects & secure Capital approval
- Lead, support and participate in commissioning and qualification activities both current and future projects.
- Updating & influencing management and project stakeholders.

- Ensure that personal training requirements are completed in compliance with site procedures.
- Support ongoing studies by Operations, Quality Validation, MSAT, Facilities and other support functions.
Education and Experience
- They need to have a relevant degree (chemical, process engineering) AND a minimum of 5 years in a Project Engineering role (not C&Q or similar) from an API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) environment.
- Individuals need to be able to be hands-on, proactive and able to engage with stakeholders.

specializing in flood risk management and design to join our team to work on projects in Ireland and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, and construction administration of flood relief infrastructure projects, contributing to Nicholas O'Dwyer's commitment to sustainability and infrastructure development — delivering innovative, resilient, and environmentally responsible engineering solutions across Ireland and internationally.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Flood risk assessments, flood relief optioneering and scheme development reports and Concept Design Reports.
- Preparation of Detailed Designs including detailed design drawings, calculations and reports.
- Preparing Technical Specifications and Contract Documents for main works and investigation contracts.
- Undertaking and leading Tender Evaluation and Procurement processes.
- Preparation of Hydrological and Hydrogeomorphology assessments
- Preparation of Water Framework Directive Assessments
- Preparation of Hydrology chapter for Environmental Reporting such as EIARs, ERs etc

Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (Master's in Water Resources, Hydrology, Hydrogeomorphology, or Flood Risk Management advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in flood risk management and drainage engineering, covering feasibility, detailed design, planning, procurement, and construction contract administration of flood relief projects.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working on Local Authority and/or OPW-led flood relief projects or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of flood risk management principles, hydrology, and drainage design standards.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling and design software (e.g. HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro, or InfoWorks ICM).
- Experience in preparing environmental and statutory approval documentation including FRAs, WFD Assessments, and hydrology chapters for EIARs.
- Working knowledge of Public Works Contracts and other forms of construction contracts.
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, allocate resources effectively, and deliver to deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across disciplines.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional body is desirable.

Project Engineer - Ireland, Sligo - 12 Contract
Located on the picturesque west coast of Ireland, our Global pharmaceutical client is looking for a Project Engineer to join their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility. They have invested $55 billion in research to discover and develop new medicines in the pursuit of scientific breakthroughs and changing people's lives. Essential duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Safely coordinate the delivery of processing equipment to the site based on planned time lines and scope. Processing equipment would include e.g. autoclaves, LAF units, moulds, extruders, packaging equipment, automated vision inspection systems, lyophilsers, isolators, containment booths, stopper processing equipment and equipment upgrades – both hardware and SCADA.
- Coordination of equipment installation and services hook up, working with equipment vendors and engineering personnel.
- Lead the Project Team or support the Project Manager in Factory Acceptance Testing program.
- Coordination of all equipment documentation requirements.
- Commissioning of equipment for validation activities.
- Preparation of equipment training and maintenance protocols.
- Report into the Project Manager on project progress and advice/support on key project outcomes
- Contribute in a team environment on specific technical problem solving forums associated with product manufacture, aseptic fill and Packaging.
- Deliver Process improvement projects.
- Work with the relevant Business Unit team leaders to implement improvement opportunities
- Lead regular Equipment/Facility Project review meetings.
- Attend the weekly Tier Meetings.
- Attend monthly Department Meetings
Desirable Experience:
- Third level qualification in an Engineering or Science or equivalent discipline/experience (Automation).
- Experience of working within either the medical device or bio/pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage but not necessary.
- Requires extensive experience in a relevant field.
- Project Management experience is preferable but not necessary
- Interpersonal skills required to operate in a multi-function project team set up.
- Ability to work within a team and on own initiative to articulate and deliver specific functional requirements for all aspects of the project and work with members of various disciplines and functions across the project.
