Ensuring compliance with Regulatory, GMP, Health and Safety, Chanelle Procedures and specifications and environmental while ensuring customer requirements and needs are met.

Location: 5 days onsite in our Loughrea QC Laboratory

As our QC Lab Manager your key responsibilities will be as follows:

Compliance:

  • Ensuring that QC Compliance activities are performed as per the scheduled action plans, to ensure that the QC department has up to date documentation to complete processes and testing including, SOP, COI, ECP and other documentation.
  • Ensures that the necessary action is taken as per the procedural requirements when Deviations occur and that CAPA are completed and closed as required.
  • Actively participating in internal and external audits.
  • Evaluate and take action on trends within the QC laboratory.

Laboratory:

  • Ensure planning and completion of testing to allow for timely release of raw materials, in process samples, finished products, pilot batches and validation related samples.
  • Ensuring that all data verification is performed in accordance with requirements for data integrity and accuracy.
  • Oversight over the QC stability program, ensuring that the program is managed as per site and customer requirements, that out of specification results are investigated and that the necessary action is taken when required i.e. notification to authorities and customers.
  • Support the new product introduction process by ensuring new materials and products are tested as required by the relevant project plans and protocols.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning and shipping to determine priorities for release.
  • Lead and motivate the analysts to achieve weekly / monthly targets and shipping dates.
  • Ensure that all testing is conducted in accordance with current EU and US regulatory requirements. Data integrity is of paramount importance and must comply with current guidelines. Ensure timely review and approval of laboratory results, protocols and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance in the event of any testing issue experienced including equipment failure, calibration failure, out of specification results, method issues or any other issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Ensure that standards, controlled substances are maintained, replenished and discarded as per the Chanelle procedures.
  • Assist in performing detailed root cause investigations into out of specification results or any analytical errors that occur in the laboratory.
  • Ensure the laboratory operates within the requirements of the Annual budget on a monthly basis.

Safety:

  • Overall responsible to ensure that the QC laboratory is maintained in a safe and compliant way to ensure that personnel are performing their duties in a safe manner.
  • Coordinate safety related activities e.g. risk assessments, safety training etc with the EHS department.

Training:

  • Ensure that all staff in the QC department are trained and competent to perform their duties.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to arrange suitable training with the ultimate goal of developing staff within the QC department.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong Leadership and People Management skills essential with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong Organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Strong IT and technical skills and working knowledge of the most common analytical techniques & relevant software.
  • String attitude to the ALCOA+ requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3rd level qualification – bachelor’s degree in a science-based discipline.
  • 10-15 years in a pharmaceutical’s environment of which at least 5 in senior or people management position.
  • Experience working within a QC lab within a pharmaceutical cGMP Environment; with knowledge of EU GMP essential.

This position is only open to candidates who already hold valid work authorisation for the EU.

**About the Role**
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team, providing a wide range of laboratory analysis to support our brewing and project teams. This role plays a key part in driving the Quality Agenda on-site, supporting projects, developing new analytical testing methods and ensuring high standards across all lab operations.
You will work closely with production teams across the brewery, reporting directly to the Quality Manager and acting as a key liaison between quality and operational teams to ensure accurate, timely data and continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
**Purpose of the role:**
+ Provide accurate and repeatable analytical data to the brewing teams in a timely manner.
+ Understand the relevance of analysis at each stage of the brewing process and promptly report any out-of-spec results to the Brewing Shift Manager.
+ Analyse trends in laboratory instrument performance, troubleshoot deviations and diagnose root causes.
+ Provide technical input and coaching to production teams when issues arise.
+ Support all aspects of the Quality Agenda on site, including projects and the development of new analytical tests.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Ensure asset care of all laboratory instruments, maintaining the lab to a high operational standard.
+ Maintain and calibrate instruments, prepare standards and analytical reagents required for testing.
+ Conduct routine sample analysis as required and coordinate external sample testing, including monthly submissions and result recording.
+ Operate and calibrate the Thermofisher for Poly, FAN, Iron and Calcium analysis, including introducing ABV analysis for pure brew.
+ Perform Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) for yeast zinc and wort magnesium analysis, and GC-MS pyrazine analysis when requested.
+ Handle site-wide sampling, particularly in support of project-related work.
+ Deliver accurate analytical data on time, ensuring all Quality Sample Plans are met.
+ Work to safe systems of operation, conducting risk assessments of laboratory processes.
+ Take ownership of your training and development needs to maintain high technical capability.
+ Support the development and implementation of the site's Quality & Food Safety Strategy, contributing to FSSC 22000, ISO 9000 and FEMAS certification compliance.
+ Lead and support initiatives to enhance lab capabilities and reduce operational costs.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, process improvement and delivering precise, reliable analytical data to support brewing excellence.
Additionally, this role entails providing long-term sick cover for analytical and micro lab duties, so it is important that the successful candidate is flexible around business requirements at short notice. This would potentially cover day, night and weekend shifts.

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**
Provides technical assistance to engineering to support
manufacturing efforts by implementing corrective and preventative actions. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Assists engineering in providing manufacturing support bylearning to analyse data and identify manufacturing issues and trends. May also train operators on basic processes and engineering changes, and perform operator certification on-the- job training and testing.
+ Assists in identifying manufacturing issues by working withengineering to determine root cause and implementcorrectiveand preventative action.
+ Learns process to disposition non-conforming material byutilising quality tools and by developing knowledge of manufacturing practices andprocedures.
+ Helps to develop and implement process improvements byassisting engineering in researching and validating changes in processes/equipmentandtestmethodstoimproveyieldand/orreduce cycle time per established procedures.
+ Assists engineering in supporting process development duringnewproductintroductionbyprovidinginputtotraceabilityandinspectionrequirements,providinginputforstatisticalprocess control criteria, developing manufacturing instructions, and creating training sheets and certifications.
+ Assists engineering with qualification and validation studies andreports by collecting, compiling, meassuring, organising andrecording data, and by writing procedures. May keeplab notebook.
**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES**
+ National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline. 2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalentcombination of education and work experience.
+ Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals. Utilises increased knowledge of numerical and statistical data and computer software programs to resolve nonroutine/moderately complex problems. Will perform this job in aquality system environment. Failure to adequately perform taskscan result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
+ Performs non-routine to moderately complextechnical assignments using standard methods and sequences.Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenanceof al I area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/orproduct. Makes adjustments, modifications, and replacementsas directed. Assignments require broad judgment introubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggestalternatives.
+ Regularly presents findings to cross-functional teams and begins to win support for ideas. Can adequately write procedures and product disposition documentation that may be presented to external auditing bodies.
+ Mentors new team members. Ensures open communication within group and across shift and relevant functions to resolve technical issues and promote learning.
+ Plans, organises, and prioritises own daily work routine to meet established schedule.
+ Solves a variety of problems of limited to moderate scope and complexity requiring basic interpretation of defined procedures and practices. Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive information or documents.
+ General supervision. Receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**
Provide Process/Quality Engineering support to manufacturing and projects helping to ensure delivery of highest quality product to the customer. Provide Process/Quality Engineering support to product development teams, helping to ensure development of highest quality new products. Will be the liaison to cross function departments (for example Research and Development, Operations and other Quality Functions). Must be able to analyze data and assist in interpreting the data. Develop and implement investigation process improvements.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures. Estimates project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
+ Prepares project plans, schedules and budgets by using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
+ Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
+ Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
+ Resolves project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
+ Translates business strategy into meaningful objectives and day-to-day activities required to accomplish them.
+ Identifies and controls manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, customer complaints) by participating in efforts/teams focused on identifying the primary root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions. May be responsible for querying and bounding data to support implementation of complex and documenting release criteria.
+ Develops product quality plans, documents and systems by creating product specifications, quality specifications and quality plans in conjunction with other product development team members. May be responsible for creating risk analyses and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES**
+ National Framework of Qualifications level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline and 4+years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
+ Wide application of technical principles, practices and procedures. Strong understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships.
