What you will do
+ Contribute to the architecture, design, development, and testing of new features and solutions for RHOAI
+ Innovate in the MLOps domain by participating in upstream communities

The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Software Engineer. This engineer will support the creation and maintenance of existing releases of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, our Kubernetes distribution. This engineer will need to work with the support organization and with engineering teams across the product to identify, prioritize, and implement updates to existing and upcoming releases to resolve customer issues. This engineer will also work proactively with the open source Kubernetes community to implement fixes in our software which were corrected in the community.

**What you will do:**
+ Work in a cross-functional team to ensure the quality and delivery of a seamless kernel experience for the Red Hat In-Vehicle Operating System in alignment with functional safety requirements
+ Design, develop and maintain automated test suites written in Python, Bash, and C; develop frameworks to simplify test development and automation related to hardware.
+ Onboard automated tests into a continuous integration (CI) workflow. - Perform both automated and manual testing. Debug, report, and track issues and verify fixes.
+ Assure continued quality and user experience of tested products and assess quality of newly developed and planned features.
+ Document and maintain test specifications and test reports.
+ Provide timely, complete, and accurate test status reports to all stakeholders
+ Work with software engineers, quality engineers, and product and project managers to analyze and prioritize quality risks, identify tests required to mitigate them, and ascertain the appropriate test levels
+ Focus on delivering customer value, analyze feedback, and enhance test coverage by automation
+ Work in a fast-paced Agile environment
+ Mentor junior team members
**What you will bring:**
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or relevant professional experience with **5+ years of experience** in Linux quality engineering (QE) or software engineering or devops
+ Solid **professional skills and background in Linux system administration** , including system installation, configuration and maintenance
+ **Hands-on experience with Linux Kernel** and Bootloaders
