Position Overview The successful candidate will enjoy working on projects containing a diverse range of hazard types. The role involves providing support on projects, both as part of multi-discipline engineering teams and as part of our standalone Process Safety consulting service. Depending on the successful candidates' preference, this opportunity can be permanent or on a contract basis. The successful candidate can work from our Cork or Dublin offices. Mentoring and coaching can be made available for candidates who demonstrate an interest in developing skill gaps where a candidate possesses some, but not necessarily all, of the preferred skills and experience for the role. PM Group have an established Subject Matter Expert (SME) technical pathway for Process Safety permanent staff. Responsibilities Independently lead and plan process safety activities during various design stages of projects, including managing other process safety colleagues. Act as a process safety focal point for dealing directly with client representatives, equipment vendors and multidiscipline engineering colleagues to obtain the required information and to resolve process safety issues. Preparing, chairing and reporting of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews, e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, etc. Independently completing and delivering process safety deliverables such as: PHA reports. Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) - ATEX/DSEAR assessment. Explosion Protection Documents (EPDs). Seveso (COMAH) Documentation (including Safety Reports) Completing Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) Consequence Modelling, i.e., Toxic Dispersion/Fire/Explosion Modelling. DNV-Phast software knowledge is an advantage. Process Safety Calculations e.g. asphyxiation calculations. Project Basis of Safety (BoS). Safety shower assessments Office (hybrid) based with site-based surveys and safety studies where required. Required to work across a variety of diverse industry sectors including pharma, food & beverage, specialty chemicals, advanced manufacturing and mission critical. Qualifications Bachelor degree qualification in Process/Chemical engineering (or equivalent). Chartered Engineer with relevant institute or working towards chartered status is an advantage. Minimum 8 years' relevant professional experience in a similar function, with over 12 years preferred, with a good understanding of process safety and process design. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, interdisciplinary verbal and written communication skills are essential. Self-motivated, able to work independently, organised and reliable along with a professional approach and demeanour. Ability to work on several projects at one time and determine appropriate prioritization. Display an enthusiastic approach towards others with a 'teamwork' focus. Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the role and project environment. Proven knowledge around a variety of process safety subject matter areas e.g. ATEX/DSEAR, PHA, COMAH, etc. Thorough knowledge of Irish and EU health & safety legislation, codes of practice and standards. Process design experience e.g. developing and maintaining PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing and process calculations. + Bringing subject matter expertise and experience in running the model, system and business operational components of our Enterprise Customer Risk Assessment and List Management functions for the Bank
+ This role will also help to specify the requirement for, and oversee the modernisation and enhancement of our CRA/LM technology, , and incorporate automation in the FIU-Detection functions and processes that support those functions

This role is based in Maynooth, Kildare, and offers long-term work on a high-profile civil infrastructure project. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Promote a strong health and safety culture across the workforce. Deliver toolbox talks and safety training as required. Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses. Ensure all health and safety documentation is up-to-date and compliant with legislation. Liaise with site teams, management, and external bodies regarding health and safety matters. Requirements: 3+ years experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction or civil engineering industry. Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g. Diploma in Health and Safety, NEBOSH, etc.). Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Full driving licence. We are working with an International construction and modular buildings organisation who are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their business in Dublin. They require someone who can operate at site level and has the ability to work closely with other members of the HSE team. ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE General accountabilities Engaging in a positive health and safety culture where prevention is paramount and we strive for recognition as and industry leader in Health Safety and Environmental best practice. Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans aligned with company and client requirements. Conduct frequent visits to multiple project sites to monitor compliance and provide hands-on support to project teams Adapt HSE strategies to site-specific challenges and changing project phases. Ensure full compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, Construction Regulations 2013, and all other relevant Irish legislation. Maintain and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and COSHH assessments. Get involved in the design and implementation of HSE improvement programs and initiatives. Ensure safe lifting operations and transportation of modular units by overseeing and managing the Health and Safety processes of project installation of varies modular buildings. Assess risks specific to modular construction such as confined spaces, working at height, and mobile plant. Conduct regular audits, site inspections, and behavioural safety observations. Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities; lead root cause analyses and corrective actions. Lead toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and engagement initiatives. Act as the key contact for external audits, contractor engagement and client based HSE meetings on project sites. COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Deciding & Initiating Action Working with People Adhering to Principles & Values Technically confident and up-to-date with industry best practices Presenting & Communicating Information Writing & Reporting Planning & Organising Experience implementing ISO 45001 management systems Technically confident and up-to-date with industry best practices Level 7 or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent Member of IOSH Full clean Irish/EU driving licence and willingness to travel across multiple sites Occupational First Aid and/or Mental Health First Aid qualification Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within the construction industry (modular/offsite experience strongly preferred) Experience undertaking Health and Safety audits Experience of team working as well as being self-motivated Data analysis, particularly identification of trends Clear communicator with excellent interpersonal and training skills Have experience of working to improve Safety culture Skills: Construction Health and Safety pharma Benefits: Company Vehicle
