ProSource are recruiting an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer in Dublin on behalf of their client who is a leading Tier 1 Main Building Contractor. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Main Building Contractor's construction projects, adhere to all relevant environmental and health & safety regulations. With a focus on sustainability, safety, and compliance, the EHS Officer will contribute to the company's commitment to responsible construction practices. Your main duties will include, but not be limited to; Monitor and ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, permits, and requirements for construction sites. Conduct environmental impact assessments and recommend mitigation measures. Implement strategies to reduce construction-related environmental impacts, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency. Oversee and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures on construction sites. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop preventative measures. Provide guidance and training to employees and subcontractors on Health & Safety protocols. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of environmental and safety inspections, incidents, and compliance documents. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and management. Manage waste disposal programs, promoting recycling and responsible disposal practices. Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct drills and training exercises to prepare personnel for emergency situations. Collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to promote a culture of environmental responsibility and safety. Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and respond to inquiries and inspections. To be successful in your application you will possess the following; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in environmental health & safety roles, preferably with Main Contractor. Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with environmental management software and tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Manage day-day site EHS activities to ensure full compliance with local, National and European regulations.
+ Implement and execute GE Vernova O&M EHS programs / processes and industry best practices.
+ Maintain excellent site-specific EHS programs and plans
+ Provide guidance and interpretation of EHS regulations and requirements affecting site to management team and team members.
+ Partner with teams to manage site EHS compliance activities (inspections, training, monitoring, sampling, etc.)
+ Drive EHS compliance through audits, process / equipment reviews and site inspections
+ Lead site risk reduction and environmental Improvement activities
