  • Full lifecycle experience of a medium-to-large SAP implementation with S/4HANA

  • Integration between core S/4 and other line-of-business applications (SuccessFactors etc)
  • Ability to advise on deployment options (RISE, private cloud, hyperscalers) at a business level
  • Strong problem solving skills with a focus on pragmatic solutions within the SAP standard best practice framework

  • Experience of CO-PA, FSCM, Fixed Assets or RAR are desirable skills
  • Led End to End Finance transformation programmes enabled by SAP, with at least one of those being utilising S/4HANA

Scope Of Role
The SAP FICO Analyst is responsible for configuring, supporting, and optimizing the SAP FICO to meet evolving business needs. This role is embedded within Mercury's Group IT SAP Team and plays a key part in driving ERP digital transformation initiatives.

The SAP Team at Mercury includes analysts across SAP FICO, MM & SD, Payroll, and non-SAP domains. The team supports all departments and business units, helping to identify, select, and deliver technology-driven improvements. The SAP FICO Analyst works closely with this team to ensure HR systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • System Configuration & Support
  • Working with Stakeholders and business users to tease out the requirements and identify opportunities to reengineer and transform finance functionality in SAP.
  • Working closely with the IT management team to design, plan and implement the move from ECC6 to S4 HANA.
  • Configure and maintain SAP FICO requirements. - Ensure system stability and alignment with business requirements. - Troubleshoot and resolve user issues. - Maintain data integrity and optimize configurations for daily operations.
  • Integration & Collaboration
  • Support integration between SAP and other enterprise systems. - Collaborate with Finance and IT stakeholders to align system capabilities with strategic goals. - Par-ticipate in cross-functional projects to enhance Finance processes.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements. - Stay current with SAP S4 HANA updates and best practices. - Contribute to testing and validation during release cycles for ECC6, legal requirements for Finance teams and capabilities available in S4 HANA to improve the business needs.

Competencies

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on SAP FICO experience
  • Strong analytical skills and process improvement focus

Essential Criteria

  • Proficiency SAP FICO
  • Skilled in system configuration, user support, and troubleshooting
  • Experienced with integration tools and data flows
  • Collaborative team player, able to work with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge in SAP BW and Opentext VIM a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP Concur
  • Experience in an SAP S/4 HANA implementation project desired
  • Exposure or knowledge of SAP Cloud Analytics, not required, but a distinct advantage

As a Finance & Economics Consultant at Arup, you will:
Develop compelling economic and financial business cases, investment strategies, and financial models to provide a wide range of strategic advice to our clients.

Lead public sector business case appraisals and evaluations in line with key guidance such as the Irish Public Spending Code and Infrastructure Guidelines.

Deliver insightful economic research and high-quality analysis for both internal and external clients to inform strategic decision-making.

Provide expert due diligence and technical advisory services for clients on investment, acquisition, or lending decisions.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about using financial and economic analysis to shape sustainable investment in the built environment.

We also value:

At least five years of experience in a consulting or advisory role, with a proven track record of preparing and presenting high-quality analytical reports to senior and C-suite level clients.

Demonstrable experience in building and managing financial and economic models, including advanced spreadsheet-based modelling.

Significant experience preparing government-side business cases to justify investment decisions, ideally with working knowledge of the Irish Public Spending Code.

An advanced university degree ( Master's or equivalent) in economics, finance, business, or a related field of study.

A talent for critical thinking and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a diverse and inclusive team.
