Overview of Role
Our client is undergoing a significant digital transformation to enhance customer experience and evolve their infrastructure. The Network Security Architect will design and implement secure, resilient network solutions to support this transformation and their digital initiatives, working collaboratively across Enterprise IT Services (EITS), Group Technology, and business units.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of their network and network security configurations to enable new services and simplify the environment
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient network security solutions aligned with business needs and strategic objectives
  • Drive simplification and automation initiatives within the managed environment to reduce complexity and repetitive tasks
  • Enable secure cloud connectivity and integration solutions
  • Maintain relationships with relevant third-party vendors supporting the network security function
  • Manage risk by maintaining control environments, minimising audit findings, and supporting remediation of external review findings
  • Lead and promote organisational values, fostering a culture of open discussion and team collaboration
  • Build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships across Group Technology, 2nd and 3rd Line teams, and business stakeholders

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of designing and implementing resilient network and network security solutions
  • Experience building Zero Trust architecture and applying related design principles
  • Familiarity with Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) network security compliance
  • Strong understanding of network security architecture specifically for digital and retail banking environments
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks including PSD2/PSD3, DORA, PCI-DSS, and banking/payments compliance
  • Strong risk management and control experience

Experience:

  • Proven delivery of enterprise-class network security solutions within major transformation programmes
  • Ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business and technology goals
  • 5-7+ years managing and operating network security technologies (desired)
  • Knowledge of Irish and European regulatory landscape for financial services (desired)

Role Overview:

The
Network Security Architect
will play a key role within the Enterprise IT Services team, leading the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions that support the organisation's digital transformation journey.

As part of the
Network and Cybersecurity Design team

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Strategy & Delivery

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the existing network and security landscape to support the integration of new services and continuous simplification.
