Job Description
**What you will do:**
+ Designs, validates and brings new products to market.
+ Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety.
+ Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials.
+ Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
+ Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
+ Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
+ Project manage the introduction of new capital equipment and support the associated qualification and validation activities.
+ Evaluate process layouts in terms of supporting new process integration while ensuring best utilisation of floor space ensuring optimum process flow.
+ Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
+ Will assist in the selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
+ Support capital acquisition activities.
+ Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP generation associated with product transfers and launches.
+ Conduct MSA studies for new products and new processes.
**What you will need:**
+ Level 8- BSc in a science, engineering or related discipline.
+ Minimum of 2 years' experience preferred.
This role will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.

**Project Engineer, Manufacturing**

**Manager/Senior Manager, Engineering**
**Position Summary**
The Project Engineer will provide technical support across various project related activities. A knowledge of the design, development, and validation of manufacturing technologies essential for the role, particularly in one or more of the following areas: CNC machining, metrology, packaging, biomaterial production and coatings. This role will assess and implement equipment and process changes to the current manufacturing lines, ensuring compliance of Stryker's products in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards for medical devices.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**
+ Provide engineering support for new equipment and process changes, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
+ Technically support the introduction of new capital equipment and support the associated qualification and validation activities - VP, IQ, OQ, PQ.
+ Evaluate process layouts in terms of supporting new process integration while ensuring best utilisation of floor space ensuring optimum process flow.
+ Development and implementation of appropriate supporting documentation, SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans and process work instructions compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
+ Transferring and implementing processes, either from development, or from another manufacturing facility.
+ Support budgetary, scheduling, and project databases, and report regularly to project manager on progress as well as on problems that could significantly affect cost or schedule.
+ Developing specifications in the form of a URS for new equipment purchases.
+ Support capital acquisition activities.
+ Provision of technical guidance for the maintenance technicians and other engineers on the team.
+ Conduct MSA studies for products and new processes.
+ Responsibility as technical support for projects (value stream and cross functional) as assigned by the company, including the scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification and operational handover as appropriate.
+ Observing the Quality Management Systems requirements on site at all times
+ Provision of out-of-hours support to the business as required by management or as mandated by shutdowns and/or equipment failures.
+ All other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications Knowledge Skills**
+ Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience is required.
+ Proven Project Engineering skills through the delivery of business critical projects.
+ Has 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
+ Capable of technical leading, influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Coop Students, Technicians and operators as required.
+ Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated environment.
+ Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
+ Technological pioneer, willing to source, investigate and implement technological and automation advances.
+ Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.

**This is how you will make a difference:**
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering support of manufacturing operations, which will involve key engineering metric management and process optimization activities including Manufacturing Yield improvement, product quality monitoring, lean manufacturing design and material/equipment/process troubleshooting using continuous improvement tools and methodology. Working as part of the operations support team, the manufacturing engineer will liaise with operations, quality, R&D and materials & purchasing departments to ensure quality and efficient manufacturing operations.
**Main responsibilities**
+ Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products or process, for current programs, next generation programs and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company.
+ Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.
+ Analyses and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology.
+ Understands engineering principles theories, concepts, practices and techniques.
+ Understands the business needs of the company, and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business.
+ Understands the business cycle and foresight of emerging technologies trends.
+ Cultivates internal and external network of resources to complete tasks. Serves as a resource in the selection orientation and training of new engineers and employees.
+ May lead a project team, determining goals and objectives for the projects.
+ Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
+ Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers.
+ Serves as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters.
+ Acts as a spokesperson to customers on business unit current and future capabilities.

**Experience, Education and Skills Required:**
+ National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification (full credits) in a relevant discipline.2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
+ Basic technical knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures. Limited understanding of business unit/group function.
+ Learns to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problems.
+ Developing a network of internal resources to facilitate completion of tasks.
