We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to play a critical role in the delivery our next generation regional and global platforms. Role:
- Act as Lead Technical Program Manager for managing program delivery.
- Drives execution of an outcome from inception through successful delivery through the full stack of the services/domains, or, an outcome that spans multiple teams and integrations across the enterprise.
- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the program within an SAFe/Agile/Scrum environment.
- Organizes and accelerates a group of related technology projects or activities across multiple teams, aligning dependent organizations. Identify and remove blockers and always find the path forward in challenging situations.
- Creates mechanisms to effectively report out and control execution. Recognizes complexity and creates predictable delivery paths for large and/or complex efforts. Measurably improves, streamlines, and/or eliminates excess processes. Utilizes cross-organizational mechanisms to describe and drive continuous improvements.
- Works with ambiguity and with limited guidance. Able to get the inertia out and the project in motion or able to get the entropy out and the project into a calm and predictable delivery pattern.
- Clearly articulate scope, timelines, dependencies, owners, actions, risks, and mitigations. Report progress to teams and senior leadership in regular cadence.
- Looked to as first point of contact for your team or area and the source of truth for status, providing the correct information and associated data about the state of the project to the right audience at the right time.
- Understands the business strategy and design approaches within product, program or domain with depth to be credible and influential with teams they work with.
- Keeps abreast of evolving technology landscape. Can ask the right questions to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of designs (scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc.).

**Team/Role Overview**
This role leads an experienced engineering team to implement new or revised application systems in coordination with the Issuer Services Technology team.
The Issuer Services business has aggressive business growth goals for the next 3-5 years and has made considerable additional investments in Technology, including quadrupling the size of the technology organization during the past few years. This role is critical to ensure our project oversight and delivery of solutions to the Operations and the Front Office businesses are best in class and scalable to continue supporting growth within the business and our internal technology organization.
**What you'll do**
An ideal candidate has a passion for technology with a strong capability in leading and directing our development teams. S/he is a senior hands-on technical lead with proven track record leading engineering teams and managing projects with acute awareness and accountability for financial and risk related objectives. S/he has strong technical and architectural skills and proactively contributes to the new technical vision and engineering best practices.
+ You should be hands on with strong analytical and technical ability with several years of experience. Previous experience involved with complex medium to large projects in a dynamic financial environment is desirable.
+ Willing to learn new techniques, particularly, low code platforms like Appian
+ There is a requirement to lead day to day delivery work and clearly set out a strategic architectural vision and identify project/program delivery risks and work on risk mitigation.
+ You should have good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources and employs skills and knowledge of the business to develop creative solutions to meet client and business needs.
+ You will be required to work on complex and variable issues with significant potential impact, weighing various alternatives and stabilizing potentially conflicting needs.
+ Consider budget implications and make appropriate strategic decisions to reduce Citi's risk exposure.
**What we'll need from you:**
+ Experience of Java, JavaScript/Angular
+ Experience in Appian is a plus
+ Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring delivery and end results
+ Manage staff and vendors/contractors to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g., performance evaluations, career guidance/mentoring, hiring and disciplinary actions)
+ End to end staff and delivery management for several of the most critical application platforms utilized by Issuer Services
+ Drive the strategic recombination of platforms and applications to align with Digital First and future state objectives
+ Confirmed experience of crafting and delivering successful complex solutions in an enterprise production environment.
+ Experience in working on multiple technologies and medium to complex systems, well versed with design standards and framework.
+ Superb communication, great verbal and written skills and ability to learn fast.
+ Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment. Hard-working and highly motivated individual.
+ Self-starter who is passionate for learning about new tools and technologies; Ability to work both independently, with other team members, and across teams.
+ Experience with Agile and all aspects of the SDLC, and DevOps processes
+ Experience with Spring / ORM framework, and database
+ Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a Computer Science or related field.

The Lead Architect, Open Banking Software Engineering will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software solutions with high customer focus and an enterprise mindset. This role plays a key part in building next-generation open banking solutions for a global audience.

Lead the ideation, design, and implementation of technical solutions for global customers (both internal and external).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across development, product, business, design, and operations from initial product conceptualization to release and ongoing product maintenance.

Guide the team to deliver quality, value-driven product enhancements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional experience with a proven track record in designing and delivering critical systems at an enterprise scale.
Proficiency in writing secure code in modern coding languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, JavaScript) and familiarity with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE) and vulnerability management.
Strong fundamentals in architectural patterns, SDLC methodologies, security best practices, cryptography standards, system frameworks, network engineering, and API-first approach.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various cloud service offerings, including AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
Credible thought leader and significant influencer, comfortable working alongside internal product and service owners in a highly agile, fast-paced environment with a high cadence of delivery.
Understanding of product design fundamentals, ensuring that solutions are flexible, easily maintained, and perform efficiently. Promote the build and reuse of common libraries and services.
Effective team builder, employee developer, and coach; capable of fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
