ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
- Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health & safety regulations).

This is a **Night Shift** role, covering Monday to Wednesday 12 hours shift (7pm to 7am).
**Summary of Role:**
+ Responsible for ensuring machine change over's, stoppages and breakdowns are undertaken in a timely manner to targets and with minimum disruption to production schedules.
+ Undertake planned routine maintenance and maintain schedules ensuring that all equipment and plant are able to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP practices.
+ Fault find to an expert level on Electrical and Mechanical systems.
+ Multiskilled able to program PLC's and to participate in technically involved projects to improve or create new processes.
+ Mechanically able to design systems and develop to implementation.
+ Implement continuous improvements on equipment and carry out to a high standard within GMP guidelines.
+ Create MOC's and manage through the QMS.
+ Create design of experiments and use other fault-finding techniques to improve processes.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Ensure safe work practices are being followed at all times, report any near misses immediately to the EHS Department.
+ Ensure that maintenance areas and equipment are kept in a clean, tidy and secure state (including storage areas).
+ Adherence and recording of defined routine maintenance schedules; covering all equipment and plant.
+ Rapid and flexible attention to all breakdowns/stoppages to minimise loss of production, liaising with Engineering Supervisor and Operational Engineering Manager.
+ Carry out/Participate in A3 Problem solving activities on major issues and lead to Root cause.
+ Analysis of equipment redesign of any systems/equipment to improve process.
+ Planning and implementation of engineering improvement projects, designing and developing to Validation.
+ Advise Engineering Supervisor and Operational Engineering Manager of any machine or plant which requires major repair or maintenance.
+ Highlight potential areas for improvement within Production area regarding equipment or procedural changes.
+ Liaise with Production on identifying areas for continuous improvement and implement changes using correct change procedure.
+ Strip down, cleaning and reassembling of production equipment as per routine maintenance schedules.
+ Perform machine set-ups and changeovers to target times as required in line with production requirements.
+ To actively assist in looking at ways to improve changeover times by procedure and method.
+ Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all documentation and paperwork such as tooling logs, setting sheets, online working sheets, PPM sheets.
+ Improve and maintain the levels of current Good Manufacturing Practice.
+ Assist with the training of colleagues as required.
+ The use of workshop equipment to manufacture piece parts and repair as required.
+ Assist with projects on trials, and new product introductions as required.
+ Carry out various other additional tasks that may be required from time to time in accordance with the overall goal of the company.
**Knowledge / Skills & Experience:**
**Essential:**
+ Bachelor's or Associate Degree or Diploma / Certificate in Engineering. May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
+ 4 years' experience.
+ Proven track record of showing how results were delivered through management/leadership.
+ Capability to follow set clear goals, communicate these clearly and ensure progress to completion meeting predefined targets.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks.
+ Problem Solving and Troubleshooting skills. The successful candidate should display a dynamic and proactive approach to manage problems.

Job Title:Equipment Maintenance Technician - Evening Shift - Galway Permanent role with Full company benefits package Department:Engineering Reporting to:Manufacturing Engineer Shift:EveningShift 15:30pm 12:00am (Monday Thursday) and 14:15pm 20:15pm (Friday)39 hours weekly General Description Exciting opportunity for an equipment minded candidate to join a medical device company on a permanent basis. working on production line equipment - attending breakdowns, troubleshooting issues and fault finding of mechanical equipment, the technician will be responsible for keeping the machine in good working order carrying out repairs and maintenance when needed. Roles and Responsibilities: Take ownership and responsibility for the technical performance/reliability of equipment to target zero downtime in the technicians area relating to equipment fault through proactive equipment management. A continuous improvement mindset is a must and always working towards this goal in a structured manner. Constantly evaluate equipment and process inputs/outputs to ensure optimal visual and functional product performance and take action before it impacts on uptime or yield. Complete PMs on time and offer improvements when found deficient, to ensure optimal equipment performance at all times. Identify requirements for jigs/fixtures to improve work station efficiency or yield improvement and carry through into manufacturing through the approval process, with supporting data on the potential gains to be achieved. Ensure tooling including mandrels/trim fixtures etc. are available to the line when required and are in optimal working order and fit for purpose. Ensure and maintain a sufficient Kanban and robust process for consumable equipment spares in CER to minimise downtime. Support onboarding of new technician hires when required. Be fully competent in manufacturing product through all work steps and in identifying Accept and Reject samples for all steps. Understand the intended use of product and the impact of defects to functionality of product. Perform functional testing of product where required. Continually review the manufacturing process for improper application of work methods and equipment settings. Communicate promptly, clearly and effectively at all times, to the Line Lead and Line Support Technician with regard to equipment and process issues with a clear plan for resolution that is data driven. Support for equipment introduction in CERs and completing and maintaining accurate up-to-date documentation (EIQs, PMs, etc). Qualifications and Job Requirements: Requires a Level 6 degree or above in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering). 3- 5+ years experience in a technical role in a similar field is required, demonstrated experience with automated equipment maintenance is an advantage. Ability to troubleshoot complex machine faults through experience with electrical and pneumatic systems. Highly motivated with good initiative and strong work ethic. **Main responsibilities:**
+ To carry out repair and Maintenance tasks of all Process and / or Facilities Equipment, so as to achieve an acceptable level of production output in full compliance with Quality and Safety and cGMP Standards.
+ Input of data into Maintenance PM System including the operation of such systems
+ Working with one's own initiative and assuming responsibility whenever the need arises.
+ May be required to train others on all equipment, Maintenance tasks, set up procedures and safety awareness.
+ To operate and maintain all equipment, so as to achieve an acceptable level of production output.
+ Complete all duties as per relevant Sop's.
+ Adhere to all relevant dress requirements with respect to cGMP's and PPE rules.
+ Conduct all maintenance duties in a safe manner and report all safety issues or concerns.
+ Maintain the required standard of housekeeping in both the maintenance workshop/facilities area.
+ Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
+ Ensure good time keeping and attendance at place of work.
+ Support team in achieving team goals and targets.
+ Attend Team meetings as required.
+ Actively contribute to continuous improvements across the plant.
+ Support and back up of all maintenance teams i.e. facilities and manufacturing when required.
+ Ensure correct and accurate communication of equipment issues/PMs/repairs including reporting of serious downtime (via email).
+ Ensure compliance to cGMP at all times.

+ 2 years' experience of working as a Maintenance Technician in Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
+ Extensive understanding of utilities or maintenance facilities.
+ Experience with a preventative maintenance system.
+ Competent in the operation and maintenance of pneumatic systems and fault- finding diagnostics.
+ Full understanding of Health & Safety and legal requirements for the safe operation of the team
+ Good problem solving and analytical skills.
+ Technical writing skills.
+ Good knowledge of cGMP.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Understands site KPI's.
