Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the homes of the residents are clean, comfortable and report any maintenance issues
  • Attend and participate fully in regular staff meetings where all aspects of the service area are discussed with a view to maintaining high standards.
  • Deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner
  • Report all matters of concern immediately to the Person in Charge.
  • Attend mandatory and specific skills training courses as scheduled

We are recruiting for position of social care workers to work as part of a dynamic team supporting in our Residential Services in Westmeath.

The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to support individuals with independent living skills, community inclusion and the promotion of their personal health and wellbeing.

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic social care worker to support, encourage and motivate individuals to lead a fulfilling life. The roster will include days, weekends, waking nights and sleepovers.

Requirements:

  • Relevant recognised Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care (Level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications).

  • Registered with CORU, or have commenced the registration process.

  • Knowledge of HIQA Standards

  • A valid Full Licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland;

  • Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable.

  • Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills.

  • Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be available for any of day, weekend, waking night duty and 'sleep-over / over-night' shifts in our residential services. In addition, we require staff members to be willing to work alone in the residents' homes and to be flexible to work across all locations and move as priorities change.

Vacancies now exist for Social Care Worker full-time Permanent contracts in Day Services to support individualised services in North and South Dublin. Locations include Swords, Balbriggan, Ballymun, Edenmore, Baldoyle, Finglas, Templeogue, Glasnevin and Goatstown

These positions will provide exciting opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their career by providing personal support services for adults with an intellectual disability.

The successful candidates will assist in supporting individuals to develop and maintain their connections to other people and strengthen links to the local community.

A vacancy now exists for a Social Care Worker- Full Time permanent contract, in a number of community residential services for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism based in Churchtown and Goatstown. We are also recruiting for Social care worker for a busy Day Service Hub based in Rathfarnham. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a skilled and responsive team to deliver a high-quality service. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team and families. The key task is to provide person centred supports to individuals.

Essential Criteria for Applicants:

  • Have at least 2 years' experience of supporting individuals with intellectual disability within a community setting
  • Have experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience implementing positive behaviour support plans
  • Have experience of a key working role focusing on promoting independence and community integration
  • Have experience and understanding of HIQA regulations
  • Have experience and understanding of New Directions
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Must have a full, clean driver licence and willing to drive as part of duties.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland.

Applicants must have one or more of the following qualifications:

  • QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) – Open Training College.
  • Level & award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland.
  • CORU Registration or be in the process of registration.

Salary Scale – Social Care Workers: Successful candidates will be paid in line with August'25 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Worker pay scale point 1; €40,351 – point 12; €56,650 per annum based on working a 39 hour week. Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
