Location: NARGC O?ce in Mountmellick, Co Laois, will be the work address.
(NARGC may relocate to another o?ce in the midlands area).
Employee will be required to work from the Breeding Waders EIP o?ces in Moate, Co Westmeath regularly.
Remote working will also be permitted, as agreed with the NARGC.
Salary: €45,000p/a Midlands Mink Eradication Programme This pilot Programme is Irelands ?rst attempt to eradicate American Mink, Neovision vision, from a large, pre-determined area.
Previous Mink trapping efforts in Ireland have controlled, or subdued, a local Mink population, without achieving eradication.
This control approach allows for rapid repopulation of Mink into the control area, soon after trapping/controlstops.
The Programme,acollaborationbetweenthe Breeding Waders EIPandthe National Association of Regional Game Councils and supported by the National Parks and Wildlife Service willutilise Citizen Scienceto delivera structured and coordinated trappingnetwork,aimedateradicating Minkfromthepilotareaover3.5years.
The citizenscienceaspectofthepilotprogrammewillprovethatatrainednetworkof volunteers,coordinatedbythe programmeteam,candeliverethical,consistent,andeffectivetrapping,inacost-effectivemanner.
Alltrappingwillfollowstrictadherenceto Animal Welfare legislation and the Wildlife Act.

Job Description and Quali?cations This is a contract role for 3.5 years, running from the commencement date up to .
This may be extended further by mutual written agreement, but the job o?er in this competition concludes on the .
As Programme Coordinator you will work closely with the Breeding Waders EIP management and the NARGC Chairman to understand the scope of the programme, programme deliverables and outputs.
You will then coordinate the day-to-day running of the programme and pursue the advancement of the agreed objectives, through establishing good delivery mechanisms.
Collaboration and engagement with other NARGC employees and volunteers, and other Breeding Wader EIP employees, will be key to getting the required results.
This collaboration will include training and organising volunteers from the target areas, as citizen scientists help to deliver the programme objectives.
Data Recording and detailed reporting on the methodology used and the results achieved will be a key output from this pilot programme.
You will be responsible for ensuring that delivery of the programme is to a high standard.
Transport & Driving Licence The candidate must have their own transport, a full driving licence and their vehicle must be insured for business use in addition to their domestic use.
The Job The Programme Coordinator is employed by the NARGC, and as such shall operate under the direction of the NARGC Chairperson, and report to, the Board of Directors of the National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC).
In relation to the delivery of the of the programme objectives, the Programme Coordinator will be tasked by, and work closely with the Programme Manager (Senior Project Manager, Breeding Waders EIP) and the Breeding Waders EIP Nest Protection Manager.

Minimum Quali?cations and Experience: Experience and understanding of the Natural Environment, and the e?ects of predation on native species, especially ground-nesting birds.
Fully understand and appreciate the need for predator control, and eradication in relation to invasive species, and be proactive and determined in pursuing that goal.
Pro?cient and experienced in using modern o?ce management IT technologies, including mapping GIS (ESRI, Argis, R python or similar) and data collating systems.
Be capable of producing comprehensive professional reports as required on this project.
A track record in working in environments where organisational and multitasking qualities are required, on your own or as a team.
A knowledge and awareness of health & safety legislation and regulations, their implications for the organisation and the employee, and their application.

Strong Interpersonal skills, ability to communicate e?ectively at all levels both in written and verbal with technical, scienti?c, and non-technical groups.

Work and collaborate with the other employees working on the Breeding Wader EIP project.
Hours of Work Location of work Full time employment, 39 hours per week, with standard bene?ts, during the de?ned contract of 3.5 years as outlined.
Normal o?ce, however, ?exibility and duties outside of o?ce hours will be required from time to time.
