Cairn has a unique opportunity for a high calibre Technical Coordinator with responsibility for the design and technical aspects of projects; managing and coordinating technical information. Reporting to a Technical Manager. This role is a 3 year fixed term contract, located in Cork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Briefing and advising external consultants and specialist subcontractors with Cairn Preferred approaches and details, within set timescales and budgets.
  • Supporting the Technical Manager to coordinate overall management of Pre-Construction Design.
  • Role will focus on Houses and Duplexes but will also support on low to mid rise apartment blocks.
  • Organising Design Team Meetings/Workshops and recording minutes.
  • Organising briefing sessions and workshops and presenting to various internal Cairn Teams for input and coordinating their approvals.
  • Chairing Design Workshops – champion Cairn product quality and legacy, focusing on delivering design excellence across the scheme.
  • Managing Cairn Design Guidance information and issuing out example design packages to consultants.
  • Ensuring Quality and the Customer is integral through the detailed design process, delivering quality across schemes through accurate design, suitable product specification and driving design compliance.
  • Developing a series of Design Guidance Drawings and information booklets to brief design teams.
  • Liaising with the in-house design and planning teams to give technical guidance on building and detailing methods.
  • Keeping abreast of new innovative products, practices and build methods.
  • Responsibility for communicating Cairn Design Management Strategy and Toolbox to all Design Team Members.
  • Coordinate technical information from grant or lodgement of planning permission to construction start on site.
  • Resolve day to day problems as they arise by preparing solutions and, where appropriate liaising with the technical manager and project manager for approval.

The Candidate;

  • Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Architecture or Architectural Technology. 3+Years. experience in residential architecture. Residential developer an advantage.
  • Knowledge & skillset in the key principles of design detailing & construction methods
  • Knowledge and experience of Timber Frame Design and Construction desirable but not essential.
  • Appreciation of the benefits and drivers of customer lead housing.
  • Experience and aptitude for researching and implementing new building technologies;
  • Light Gauge Steel, Bathroom Pods + Pre-Cast Concrete. Off Site Construction.
  • Proficient in CAD and sketch design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of latest Building Regulations and certification standards.
  • Commercially astute with an ability to make value-add contributions through the design development process.
  • To have good spoken and written communication skills
  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate with ability to take a practical approach to problem solving.
  • To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.
  • To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative, and to be able to achieve time and quality targets.
  • To be flexible, agile and to take responsibility for completing designated tasks and report back to Technical Manager.
  • Willingness to travel between sites across greater Dublin and a full driving licence.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with multiple cross-functional Agile teams of System Integrators, Site Process and Operation Teams, and Automation Engineers on a day-to-day basis to manage the progress of the sprint and to remove any roadblocks or impediments that the team is facing.
  • Coordinate with the Scrum Master, Product Owner and System Integrator on a day-to-day basis to plan every sprint.
  • Manage Technical Queries Log and updates.
  • Manage escalations to DeltaV Workstream Lead and PM as required.
  • Coordination of Software delivery to meet site DSAT dates.
  • Responsible for maintaining schedule adherence and mitigating any delays.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for all DeltaV DCS-related projects and operations within pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead the implementation, configuration, and validation of DeltaV systems in accordance with FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 11, and GMP guidelines.
  • Develop, configure, and test DeltaV control strategies, logic, and operator interfaces to meet pharmaceutical process requirements.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and root cause analysis for DeltaV system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including system design specifications, validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), change control records, and SOPs to support audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Train operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel on DeltaV system operation, change management, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Emerson, system integrators, and quality assurance teams during audits, inspections, and vendor assessments.
  • Identify and implement system enhancements to improve process control, data integrity, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance.
  • Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning related to control system changes and upgrades.
  • Ensure Automation compliance with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements, and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related technical field.
  • Extensive experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS in a pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5).
  • Experience with system validation lifecycle (IQ/OQ/PQ) and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with DeltaV software tools (Control Studio, AMS Suite, DeltaV Operate).
  • Familiarity with industrial networking, cybersecurity, and protocols relevant to pharma automation.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Quality, Validation, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., DeltaV Certified Engineer, GAMP training) are highly desirable.
  • API experience is preferable.

Job Description

This role is responsible for administering our ERP and website systems, providing technical support, generating business-critical reports, and assisting with administrative functions across departments. A key part of this role involves managing our eCommerce website ensuring system uptime, user account support, and integration with supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at the intersection of IT and business operations, especially within a supply chain-driven environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in IT support, ERP administration, or website management
Understanding of supply chain processes (procurement, inventory, order fulfilment, logistics)

Experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento) and ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)

Strong analytical skills and ability to create reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, or similar

Preferred Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, service-oriented mindset

Familiarity with APIs or system integrations between ERP and eCommerce platforms

Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or web CMS management

Experience with ticketing or help desk systems (e.g., Freshdesk, Jira, Zendesk)

Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and user access contro
