Position Summary

Are you an exceptionally skilled aviation management professional with technical acumen and experience who is looking for a new and challenging opportunity? Would you like to play an integral part in the continued growth of a leading mid-life aircraft leasing company?

As part of ACS, you will join a team of highly skilled industry professionals with vast experience in aircraft leasing, aircraft/engine trading, airline fleet management and engine shop visit management. In this position, you will manage a growing portfolio of aircraft on lease worldwide, play a key role in negotiating lease amendments and lead aircraft delivery/redelivery projects. Among other duties, you will also be performing technical analyses and modelling of maintenance projections of currently owned and prospective assets for strategic decision making by top management.

You will report to the SVP – Technical Management.

Key Responsibilities

Director – Technical Management will have the following overall responsibilities:

  • As a member of the deal team, assist in negotiation of LOIs and LAs with a focus on delivery / return conditions, identifying commercially beneficial opportunities and mitigation of risk.
  • Active day-to-day lease portfolio management incl. MR rates and claim management, and engagement with customers on lease extensions and amendments.
  • Management of pre-purchase asset/lease review, inspection and records due diligence of prospective assets.
  • Management of consultants, and completion of mid-term aircraft audits and inspections.
  • Arrange, control,negotiate and execution time aircraft deliveries and redeliveries within the approved budget.
  • Support the deal team wherever needed to achieve successful outcomes for the business.
  • Advise on the suitability and dependability of maintenance facilities, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Utilizing the lease management IT system (Leaseworks) to proactively oversee the portfolio and enhance strategic decision making on an asset-by-asset basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join WSP's Mining and Metals business in the UK&I. This position would be involved in the delivery of mine waste projects domestically and internationally, supported by a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Responsibilities
This is a leadership role with the UK and Ireland Mine Waste team (and globally), and the role will comprise a combination of technical leadership, project direction, business development, and client liaison. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver consulting services for mine waste projects, which may include the design and inspection of mine waste storage facilities, the construction of tailings deposits, stability and seepage analysis and closure design
  • Work as part of a diverse team of engineers, scientistsand modellers from conceptual design through to detail design and engineering
  • Provide specialised technical input focused on tailings management facilities, water impoundments, waste rock dump design, soil mechanics, soil improvement methods, geosynthetic materials engineering and related civil engineering work for projects worldwide
  • Lead and input into the design and assessment of mine waste facilities, including tailings facilities, water storage facilities, waste rock dumps and integrated waste facilities, from concept design stage, through detailed design stage and into the operational and closure phases of a project
  • Assist project managers in the successful delivery of projects by managing own involvement in projects, including time, budgetand quality control
  • Leading, mentoring, and working with a team of scientists, engineers, and other professionals within the Mine Waste team to support their career development, technical excellence, and commercial awareness.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates
  • Provide technical direction and supervise junior and intermediate staff
  • Provide input to team strategy development
  • Participating in global corporate technical practice groups with the goal of elevating our technical excellence and visibility in the eyes of our clients.
  • Exciting opportunities to travel within Ireland and internationally to assist clients in solving engineering problems and support construction of WSP designs. Travel outside of Ireland will require overnight stays, and likely duration will depend on the nature of the project/client needs and project location

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • Demonstrated experience of technical leadership, collaboration, and delivery.
  • Substantial and broad experience in mine waste and tailings.

  • A proven track record in the delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects on-time and on-budget
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with verbal and written communication skills with respect to technical, business development and strategy.
  • Degree qualified within civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or engineering geology, with a strong emphasis on and proven ability in soil mechanics
  • Knowledge of national and international design guidelines and regulations
  • Mining and geotechnical experience relating to mine waste disposal/facilities
  • The ability to interpret and monitor results and use a variety of tools to monitor and design geotechnical structures and assist clients with operational requirements
  • Ability to manage and work effectively within a team environment
  • Chartered professional with relevant body.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally, and on occasion to remote environments.

  • A good understanding of construction and site processes, particularly earth moving and construction of earth structures; materials engineering; foundations for a wide range of structures; piling construction methods and types; highway pavements; rail track beds; hard standing; and ground improvement methods.
  • Significant experience guiding project teams and handling the technical delivery of projects, either as client's or contractor's designer

A little more about your role:
Reporting into the Mining Business structure, the primary focus for the Technical Director, Water Resource Engineer includes project delivery and direction, provision of technical expertise in water resources engineering design, business development, understanding and maintaining our existing key client relationships, training and mentoring of junior staff and active development of new client relationships and opportunities in line with our strategy. This role is predominantly within the mining business, with the potential to also work with other local sectors, including infrastructure and land development.

The Technical Director, Water Resource Engineer role is a senior leadership role within the mine water team, with a specific focus on technical excellence, mentorship, business development and project delivery. The role includes responsibility for building and maintaining mine water team project backlog and supporting the day-to-day delivery of projects, with a focus on financial performance, client service excellence and technical service excellence, staff engagement and long-term professional development of technical staff.

  • Provide senior technical direction, review, and sign-off of work within your area of professional practise.
  • Deliver practice-leading consulting services to internal and external clients in the areas of conceptual model development, hydraulics, engineering design, mine water management, stormwater management, flood-lines, hydrology, water conservation and demand management, water balances and mine water management.
  • Direct and review water resource aspects of a range of international mining and water resources projects, including environmental assessments, environmental permitting, and engineering design projects.
  • The type of work undertaken as part of these projects could include the following:
  • Climatic, hydrological, and hydraulic assessments, including fieldwork, data management, data analysis, and modelling;
  • Integrated water management plans and completing conceptual design of water management infrastructure;
  • Water balance modelling to assess water management solutions and to estimate water demand, treatment, storage, and discharge volumes;
  • Pre-feasibility, feasibility and detailed designs of water management infrastructure (e.g. open channels, sewers, culverts, spillways, energy dissipators, holding and settling ponds, pumping systems) including capital and operating cost estimates;
  • Dam break analyses of water and tailings dams, including developing inundation maps, delineating self-rescue zones and classifying dams in terms of risk to population, property and the environment; and
  • Dilution and assimilative capacity assessments of surface water receivers of effluent.
  • Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) design for land development projects;
  • Assist with developing projects and services which support climate change reporting, resilience and adaptation, including nature-based solutions;
  • Participate in and direct multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional and international consulting projects, so they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client and WSP's standards.
  • Achieve and maintain a utilisation target to be agreed with your People Manager and reviewed annually or as determined by specific business need.
  • Undertake project-based travel and site work, working away in the UK, Europe and internationally. The frequency and duration of this will depend on business and client need.

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, hydrology or a related field / postgraduate qualification in engineering or environmental management;

We are looking for an experienced consultant to deliver geochemical water-rock interaction studies for the prediction, prevention, and management of metal leaching and acid rock drainage in mining projects. Your Team

The post will be within our Ground & Water team which is a service line in WSP's Earth & Environment business.

Our team of over 180 professionals at all grades provides land contamination management services to private and public sector clients in the property, government agency, industrial, defence and nuclear sectors. We have expertise across all aspects of contaminated land meaning we have the means to support and develop career development. We have several exciting projects in the pipeline including supporting with the energy transition, infrastructure and nuclear decommissioning.

The Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of technical expertise working w ith our international team of geochemists and multidisciplinary team members on projects including permitting, baseline studies, engineering studies, operational support, and closure, with a focus on the mining industry, but with opportunities in other industries.
  • Collaborating at all levels of the Mining Team and across the business to strategise and implement business objectives.
  • Project management including drafting proposals and cost estimates, client liaison, financial management and invoices, project closure, and client feedback with support from the project management team within the mining group.
  • Leading, mentoring, and working with a team of scientists, engineers, and other professionals within the Mine Water team to support their career development, technical expertise, and commercial awareness.
  • Participating in global corporate technical practice groups with the goal of elevating our technical excellence, innovation, and visibility within the business and to our clients.
  • Business development activities including proposal and bid preparation, marketing activities, and supporting participation in tradeshows and conferences.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of client relationships to actively seek out and win new work, through client interactions and supporting business development efforts of the team.

Join our dynamic Nature team as Technical Director in our UK and Ireland offices, including Manchester, Leeds, Basingstoke, Birmingham,Newcastle, Glasgow, Cambridge, Dublin, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Bristol and Liverpool offices (other locations across the UK may be considered). Our Nature team are working on a mix of large infrastructure projects in the energy, water, renewables, defence and transport sectors, alongside managing smaller local projects. The vast majority of our projects are based in the UK and Ireland.
We are looking for a technical leader, someone that can help us shape and drive the ecology team within UK&I. We will call upon your in-depth expertise on ecological assessments and project management to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the high standard expected by AECOM, our clients, and the ecology profession. You will be a member of the wider ecology leadership team in UK&I and will have a say in shaping the direction and future of our team and our work. **Qualifications**
**_Here's what we're looking for:_**
+ Degree (or equivalent) in ecology or an associated subject;
+ Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards or obtained Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist status;
+ Excellent knowledge of relevant biodiversity legislation and policy, and reporting skills;
+ Experience of leading and managing biodiversity assessments (major planning applications and DCO submissions) as demonstrated by suitable professional experience;
+ Experience in managing projects, project budgets and leading stakeholder discussions, and bidding/tendering
+ Experience of reviewing/verifying technical work and supporting wider team members.

We are seeking a Technical Director to join our Civil Infrastructure team in Ireland. Based at GreenTech HQ in Enniscorthy, County Wexford – Ireland's Sustainability Innovation Hub, this leadership role will combine technical excellence with business growth. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with flexibility to work remotely and the expectation of spending 2–3 days per week at our GreenTech HQ office. You'll work closely with our Ireland Director, alongside colleagues across the UK and India, to deliver high-quality civil engineering design and project management.

As Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping ECSL's growth in Ireland. From leading design on complex engineering projects to driving business development and mentoring engineers, this position offers the chance to make a tangible impact. With a balance of technical leadership, client engagement, and team development, you'll be at the forefront of delivering projects that align with ECSL's mission to engineer a more sustainable future. Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering design across power, rail, buildings, and utilities, from concept to construction
  • Manage technical and financial aspects of projects
  • Oversee tender preparation for Irish project bids
  • Support business development in line with company vision
  • Direct project management for new and existing projects
  • Mentor, recruit, and develop engineering staff
  • Attend client meetings and build strong stakeholder relationships

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer with 5+ years' managerial experience
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelors or Masters)
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving ability
  • Proven project management and line management skills
  • Understanding of UK & Ireland design standards
  • Site experience in the UK & Ireland construction market, including safety policies and project supervision
  • Valid driving licence
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in civil engineering design with emphasis on power and rail projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to €100,000.00 per year
