Cairn has a unique opportunity for a high calibre Technical Manager with primary responsibility for the design and technical aspects of projects; managing and coordinating technical information from grant of planning permission through to project completion. This role is a 3 year fixed term contract, located in Cork.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will in time manage the workload and performance of direct reports; i.e. a D&B Coordinator and Document Controller. The role will also entail reviewing design with the Planning Team on buildability and value engineering matters.

Key responsibilities:

The candidate – key requirements;

The Technical Manager will form part of senior management team within the account structure with responsible for the day-to-day operations of the technical service elements of the facility management contract under his/her brief. Candidates must possess:

  • Qualified in an electrical discipline (electrician or electrical technician) with at least 5 year

The Technical Manager duties and responsibilities will also include technical assistance on specialised bulk deliveries, compliance and liability in accordance with key organisational strategies.

Responsibilities:


• Excellent knowledge of current legislation in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Liaise and communicate with government and legal entities (RSA & Dept of Transport) in matters relating to compliance.


• Analysing and advising on trailer design specification and suitability to meet current and future capacity needs, making sure all assets are fully utilised.


• Availability to travel nation-wide, overseas travel may be required.

The candidate – key requirements;

  • Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Architecture or equivalent; 5+ years post qualification experience
  • Experience in the design and detailing of mixed use residential led schemes, preferably high rise. Previous developer/house builder essential.
  • Excellent working knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards * Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets.
  • To have good spoken and written communication skills
  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate
  • To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.
  • To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
  • To be able to co-ordinate a number of different projects at the same time.
  • To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks.

About Us:

Provincial Agri Foods is fast growing cooked meats business. We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join our management team. If you are passionate about Food Safety and Quality management and want to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement and enforce strict security and food safety standards / food safety regulations, policies, and quality assurance programs, including: ― HACCP ― regulatory audits ― food safety training programs ― standard operating procedures (SOP's) ― product inspections ― standardised work instructions

· Carry out duties in such a manner as to comply with the Health & Safety and Hygiene policies of the Company

· Assist with on-the-job training and development of staff as required

· Take appropriate action to maintain or improve relationships with all customers

· You are required to use your best endeavours to promote the best interests of the Company and abide by the rules, policies, and procedures of the Company

· Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards

· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP and BRC

  • Investigate and resolve quality-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a quality management role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards, including HACCP and BRC.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
