The Position:

Role and Responsibilities:
- DFT definition & development to improve testability, quality and reduce cost.
- Pre-tapeout verification of Test solutions using Design Simulation tools.
- Design of innovative, reliable and efficient multi-site Probe and Test solutions on high performance mixed signal ATE platforms.
- Execution of the Test development phase including Silicon functionality and debug, Characterization, Yield Analysis, solution optimization and Offshore Production release.

We're National Broadband Ireland and we're delivering the largest telecommunications project that Ireland has ever seen. We're designing, building and operating Ireland's new, high-speed wholesale broadband network under the National Broadband Plan. Our aim is to radically transform the country's broadband landscape through the delivery of quality, affordable high-speed broadband to all parts of Ireland where such services are not available commercially.
The NBI network using a combination of State subsidy and commercial investment will deliver high-speed broadband to over 1.1 million people and over 569,000 premises in Ireland. No matter how remote or rural, no town, village or community will be left behind. NBI will be responsible for the management of the new national broadband network for the next 25 years.
Key Objectives / Accountabilities:
NBI is looking for a Software Development Engineer for Test (SDET) who wants to jump in head-first and help scale a mission-driven company experiencing rapid growth. The SDET reports to the Release and Change Manager, and works with technology solutions to support existing automated test frameworks and test automation capabilities in a variety of platforms and systems. Prior experience in a similar role is required, to take ownership of, and further develop automated test and reporting solutions for software and infrastructure components in our systems.
The SDET completes development tasks within wider agile teams to deliver change in support of large project and programmes. This role is all about automation and test data management, and working to develop systems and processes to test and report outcomes in software development and deployment activity efficiently, and the role is suited to senior technician transitioning from a pure test engineering, or a developer transitioning into test and QA to develop a career in systems test automation in support of CICD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as lead engineer to further develop and maintain test automation frameworks in support of automated unit, component, function, system integration, end-to-end and regression testing activities
- Working as lead engineer for test outcome reporting systems and analytics dashboards
- Working as part of a team to integrate test activity within DevOps tools and systems, including GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, CICD Orchestration and Deployment Automation tools
- Working with team colleagues and partners to develop automation solutions for testing within AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, Elastic Load Balancing & EC2 Auto Scaling, Cognito, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, VPC, RDS & Aurora, SQS, and CloudWatch
- Working to automate data setup and teardown for test execution and manual test support
- Being mindful of the appropriate processes and security compliance in NBI environments as agreed with Information Security Requirements
- Supporting team colleagues with other responsibilities including deployment automation, deployment verification, release support and change governance
- Working with the Release Coordinator to develop release runbook sequence of events activities, ensuring test and verification requirements are met for a successful outcome
- Working with the Release and Change Manager and the Operations Incident Manager in support of unexpected Production outcomes, including assisting incident root cause analysis
- Attending POD meetings and representing the workload of DevOps Test Automation in the delivery of planned incremental programme updates
- Adhering to and championing all IT policies, best practices and standards
Knowledge & Experience:
- This role would suit an established senior SDET or senior IT development engineer looking for additional responsibilities in their career progression. Experience in the Telecoms sector is not required, but a good grounding and appropriate commercial IT experience is necessary in order to best serve your own and NBI's requirements
- Experience in Cloud and AWS infrastructure is necessary for this role
- Experience working with JIRA for tracking your epics, tasks and assignments is beneficial
- Prior experience working with tools would be an advantage but is not essential
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a broad range of people in a professional manner
- Appropriate experience, coupled with a desire to further advance your technical, and analytical skills, meet deadlines and quality standards, and respond to changing priorities, whether working independently or in a team situation

Jabil is seeking a Lead Software Test Development Engineer who will directly contribute to the validation test solutions in place for server hardware manufacturing facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of hardware products in a large-scale production environment.
You will be responsible for contributing to the end-to-end architecture, definition, development and production deployment of production software applications and infrastructure spanning multiple customers and manufacturing regions.
You will also be responsible for interfacing with internal engineering, manufacturing and quality teams and our end customers to ensure your software deliverables meet the rigorous standards of Jabil's world-class manufacturing environments.
What will you do? -
- Test System Development: Design and develop test systems and procedures for hardware validation during the manufacturing processes. This includes creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts to assess the functionality and performance of hardware components or devices such as motherboard, memory, CPU, storage (SSD, HDD, NVMe) and PCIE devices (NIC, GPU, Mezz cards, RAID cards)
- Test Software Development: Create, validate, release, and maintain test software and scripts that automate the testing process. This software may include code for controlling test equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and generating test reports
- Test Sustaining: Support and maintenance for the manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11-L12) level test software and infrastructure deployed at our production facilities, including the implementation of minor system configuration changes (new product variants or revisions)
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11-L12) documentation of test procedures, specifications, and Infrastructure
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure alignment on testing requirements and quality standards

Education:
- BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field is preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience:
- 5-8 years' experience in a software role related to manufacturing test development/sustaining with enterprise server, storage or networking products is required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- A combination of Education, training and experience will be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with server hardware interaction, validation, and configuration.
- Experience in 2-3 of the core skills below is required, with expectation to expand skillset as workload requires:

- Linux development expertise with a solid understanding of its fundamentals: CentOS/Ubuntu
- Hardware and API solutions for controlling, managing and stressing L10 devices (servers, network and storage SSDs, NVMe): IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, memtester, iperf
- Creation and configuration (DHCP, PXE boot, nginx) of Virtual Machines (VMs) using VMWare
- Leading edge networking systems, hardware, software and protocols including but not limited to enterprise ethernet datacenter switching/routing L1, L2, and L3 (BGP, DHCP Relay, ECMP). Arista CloudVision is a plus
- Experience with code versioning tools (Git preferred)

- Mentor SDETs and developers on automation and quality best practices.
- Drive shift-left testing by integrating tests earlier in the development lifecycle.
- Own the quality metrics framework and ensure actionable reporting on test coverage, defect leakage, flakiness, and test debt.
- Ownership of test data strategy, including synthetic data generation and data masking for secure and scalable test environments.
