Collaborate with Psychologists to gather comprehensive information and provide holistic assessments. Provide feedback to the Psychologist Be aware of and refer clients on to appropriate services as necessary. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessment results and suggested interventions. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records. Work within limits of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance. Stay abreast of current research and best practices in Autism assessment and intervention. What experience and qualifications do I need? Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy Accreditation with CORU or equivalent Specialisation or significant experience in Autism assessment Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardized assessment tools commonly used in autism diagnosis e.g., ADOS-2 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Skills Requirement Qualification: Hold a Degree/ Masters in Occupational Therapy from a 3rd level institution offering a programme of study accredited by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Be registered with CORU or show proof of pending registration at application stage. Knowledge: Knowledge of the Judgement Support Framework and experience supporting compliance with same. Knowledge of individual care planning and experience contributing to individual risk assessment Experience: Post-qualification work experience working in forensic mental health services. Have at least three years relevant post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist preferably in adult mental health services Experience in developing and running therapeutic services and programmes including occupation based and psycho-educational groups Experience working with individuals with complex mental health presentations Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD). The principal functions of the MHC, as specified in the 2001 Act, are to promote, encourage and foster the establishment and maintenance of high standards and good practices in the delivery of mental health services and to take all reasonable steps to protect the interests of persons detained in approved centres. The MHC is also empowered to undertake such activities, as it deems appropriate to foster and promote these standards and practices. The Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015 (the 2015 Act) provides for the establishment of the Decision Support Service (the DSS) within the MHC to support decision-making by and for adults with capacity difficulties and to regulate individuals who are providing support to people with capacity difficulties. The 2015 Act reforms Irelands capacity legislation which has been in place since the 19th century. It establishes a modern statutory framework to support decision-making by adults who have difficulty in making decisions without help. Please note that all reference to the Mental Health Commission include the Decision Support Service. The Role Executive Officers support the manager of the division they are assigned to in achieving the overall objectives of the MHC. Their primary role is to contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective service to the public and to colleagues in the Commission. The successful candidate will be required to engage and communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders including staff, officials from government departments and public bodies, private sector bodies, disability organisations and others. The duties of the Executive Officer are varied and can involve assignment to different parts of the organisation or different areas of work. The performance of the entire range of duties is not necessarily confined to any one individual within a division as the work requires that employees in the role function in a flexible manner and work effectively together as a team to deliver required outcomes or outputs. As an Executive Officer, the holder of the post will be expected to actively contribute to and participate in the overall development of the MHC and to promote its policies and values at all times. Essential Requirements Planning and organising people and resources to meet goals, targets and objectives. Carrying out detailed research on matters relevant to the work of the MHC and analysing results. Taking ownership of assigned tasks and prioritising competing tasks in order to ensure that they are completed on time and to a high standard. Presenting material (written and oral) in a clear, concise, comprehensive and convincing manner. Analysing and preparing responses to non-routine issues, queries, correspondence etc. Providing Clerical Officers with on-the-job training and support to deliver objectives. Sharing information, knowledge and experience with colleagues with the purpose of assisting the team/organisation to meet its objectives. Contributing to and carrying out project work as and when required. Keeping up-to-date with the practices and procedures of the MHC and developing and maintaining the technical skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in the role. Contributing to new and more effective ways of work and implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness as directed. Any other duties that are deemed appropriate by the line manager. This role aims to deliver immediate and early specialist management of adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions presenting to a model 4 hospital.
