Role Objectives Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex disabilities focusing on enhancing their communication and functional abilities and participation in daily activities. Working with Person In Charge and frontline staff to develop accessible materials for information and social stories purposes. Demonstrates exemplary clinical skills in SLT assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of children and young people with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, autism, etc. Provide a speech and language therapy service to include communication assessment, diagnostics and intervention, and ongoing service delivery to children and adults with a range of disabilities. Develop individualised treatment support plans based on evidence-based practices. Clinical Responsibilities: Conduct thorough OT assessments and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment plans Lead on functional rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, and discharge planning Deliver high-quality care across a range of clinical areas including medical, surgical, stroke, and frailty Participate in MDT meetings, care planning, and patient education Contribute to quality improvement, audit and service development initiatives Supervise junior staff and support professional development where appropriate Maintain accurate, professional clinical documentation in line with HSE and CORU standards Essential Requirements CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience Experience in an acute, hospital, rehabilitation or community setting. Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical reasoning skills. Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to a fast-paced hospital setting.
