The appointee will be expected to have an excellent knowledge and experience of the tourism industry and of the application of digital technologies, including the application of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, AR/VR/XR, data analytics, mobile services, Internet of Things (Io T), blockchain, and other developments in the tourism sector.
They should have a well-developed research agenda and research output in the field of digital tourism and / or related areas.
The appointee should be capable of making an immediate contribution to the programmes in the School and Faculty, particularly in digital tourism modules.
The successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in the further development of the Schools programme offerings and research as well as supporting programme management and development and to contribute to the growth of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in a focused and constructive manner.
The role requires a strong ability to work on own initiative as well as contribute and collaborate with an integrated team of professionals, with a commitment to team building.
In addition to teaching and research, the role will involve providing pastoral care to students, developing curriculum, supervising research students, and managing courses and quality assurance.
Organisational, administrative, resource management and communication skills are key to the successful delivery of this role.
