Overview Of The Role
We are seeking an experienced Chartered Transport Planning Lead to be part of our Transport and Mobility Solutions Division in Ireland. Located in Dublin you will be required to combine managerial responsibilities with technical responsibilities to promote a collaborative approach and inspire teams to win work and deliver projects to quality, budgets and timescales.
You will be offered, and be expected to take on, a key role and have responsibility for growing the Transport Planning and Modelling team's profile by utilising existing client relationships and business development skills to develop and grow a portfolio of work for the division.
Although the role is located in Dublin, you will be expected to collaborate with our wider business in Ireland and the UK.
The role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to balance leadership in the delivery of complex projects ensuring technical excellence and innovation, with the requirement to engage with Local Authorities and transport authorities to expand our client base, grow our project portfolio and help shape the future of our division in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities And Duties Include
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams in the pursuit, bidding, design and delivery of transport planning and modelling projects
- Demonstrating leadership and promoting a Safety First culture
- Managing the planning and implementation of transport planning projects including those related to Active Travel and Public Transport
- Leading a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery to client requirements, programme and budget
- Controlling project resources and monitoring against budget
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, local authorities, and industry partners
- Monitoring market trends and contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives
Candidate specification
The Successful Candidate Will Meet The Following Criteria
- Degree qualified in a related discipline, or extensive equivalent experience
- Member of a relevant professional organisation (such as Chartered Institution of Highways and Transport, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Transport Planning Society or Institution of Civil Engineers) ideally a chartered professional or Transport Planning Professional
- Proven track record in developing planning applications of major infrastructure projects to a high quality
- Demonstrable senior skills in planning for major infrastructure projects (particularly transport), demand modelling/forecasting, transport business cases, wider transport economics, transport policy and strategy
- Demonstrate a strong track record in business development with the ability to identify and exploit growth opportunities
- Experience and/or familiarity of working with Irish clients
Desirable
- MSc or further qualifications related to transport planning or transport economics
- Experience in delivering multi-disciplinary transport strategies, feasibility studies and business cases
- Ability to oversee transport modelling, demand forecasting and assessment

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail are seeking a dynamic and motivated Transport Planning / Economic Analyst to support the delivery of a once-in-a-generation programme of capital investment in rail. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in advancing the vision set out in the All-Island Strategic Rail Review which seeks to enhance connectivity, support sustainable growth and transform the role of rail across Ireland. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning and development of major rail projects that align with national transport, housing, and climate objectives.
Applications are invited for the position of Transport Planning / Economic Analyst within the Capital Investments Department. This role will report into the Senior Transport Economist, Transport Planning and will involve the following:
- Support the delivery of a suite of project and programme appraisals in compliance with the Infrastructure Guidelines and other relevant sectoral guidance
- Ensure all designated statutory and, where relevant, non-statutory consultations are responded to in a timely manner
- Develop transport planning opportunities and contribute to ad hoc policy reviews/reforms to enable enhanced rail services, including working with external stakeholders
- Assist in the development of team capability through research and briefing
Essential Requirements:
- Third Level Qualification (transport, economics, sustainability, strategy, or business degree desirable)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Highly numerate and comfortable working with financial data
- Ability to deliver to multiple project deadlines simultaneously

Our team covers all areas of transport planning, from pedestrian and highway modelling, to public transport and spatial planning. **Job Description**
At AECOM we have a number of exciting opportunities across the UK & Ireland for graduates to work within our Transport Planning Team. Our team covers all areas of transport planning, from pedestrian and highway modelling, to public transport and spatial planning. As an integrated team, we provide design and planning advice from inception through to detailed design, often working alongside engineers, architects and master planners in multi-disciplinary teams.
We are looking for an ambitious team player who wishes to assist in developing and communicating innovative and effective approaches to the analysis of public expenditure in a collaborative environment. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to begin their career in a dynamic team and it better understand how economic theory can be used to help solve real-world, practical, challenges.
We will, of course, provide you with all the training and support you need to progress your career and develop professionally. You will be working within a positive culture where learning and development is not only supported, but also actively promoted.
Early work with us will typically be supporting senior staff with technical input into a variety of projects. Key responsibilities will include:
+ Assisting in data collection and analysis
+ Reviewing and building economic models
+ Reviewing and drafting infrastructure proposal documents and associated business cases
+ Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, bids and proposals
+ Attending meetings and workshops with clients and members of other disciplines.
**Qualifications**
+ A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Economics, Maths, or an MSc in Transport Planning with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above
+ A Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Economics, Maths, or Transport Planning would be an advantage
+ Transport Planning modules or experience would be an advantage
+ Ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of Transport Planning
+ Demonstrable interest in Transport Planning and developing a career in this industry
+ Willing and able to work towards chartership with the TPS, CIHT, or ICE
+ Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
+ Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback
+ Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive
+ Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole
+ Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus

We are currently seeking a
Transport & Planning Assistant
to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the planning, coordination, and the delivery of precast concrete products to various construction sites. The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in planning deliveries of heavy goods
Ideally experience of construction and can read CAD drawing
Good computer skills including Microsoft word and excel
Experience with heavy haulage, transport qualification ideally required
Available to work at our offices in Dublin (not remote role)
Good communications skills are essential
Forklift experience preferred
Key activities include:
Assisting in the planning/scheduling of loads to sites in UK and Ireland
Ensuring compliance with transport legislation
Experience of securing loads
Managing incoming deliveries to the plant, off-loading smaller deliveries
