Reporting into the Mining Business structure, the primary focus for the Technical Director, Water Resource Engineer includes project delivery and direction, provision of technical expertise in water resources engineering design, business development, understanding and maintaining our existing key client relationships, training and mentoring of junior staff and active development of new client relationships and opportunities in line with our strategy. This role is predominantly within the mining business, with the potential to also work with other local sectors, including infrastructure and land development.
The Technical Director, Water Resource Engineer role is a senior leadership role within the mine water team, with a specific focus on technical excellence, mentorship, business development and project delivery. The role includes responsibility for building and maintaining mine water team project backlog and supporting the day-to-day delivery of projects, with a focus on financial performance, client service excellence and technical service excellence, staff engagement and long-term professional development of technical staff.
+ Provide senior technical direction, review, and sign-off of work within your area of professional practise.
+ Deliver practice-leading consulting services to internal and external clients in the areas of conceptual model development, hydraulics, engineering design, mine water management, stormwater management, flood-lines, hydrology, water conservation and demand management, water balances and mine water management.
+ Direct and review water resource aspects of a range of international mining and water resources projects, including environmental assessments, environmental permitting, and engineering design projects.
+ The type of work undertaken as part of these projects could include the following:
+ Climatic, hydrological, and hydraulic assessments, including fieldwork, data management, data analysis, and modelling;
+ Integrated water management plans and completing conceptual design of water management infrastructure;
+ Water balance modelling to assess water management solutions and to estimate water demand, treatment, storage, and discharge volumes;
+ Pre-feasibility, feasibility and detailed designs of water management infrastructure (e.g. open channels, sewers, culverts, spillways, energy dissipators, holding and settling ponds, pumping systems) including capital and operating cost estimates;
+ Dam break analyses of water and tailings dams, including developing inundation maps, delineating self-rescue zones and classifying dams in terms of risk to population, property and the environment; and
+ Dilution and assimilative capacity assessments of surface water receivers of effluent.
+ Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) design for land development projects;
+ Assist with developing projects and services which support climate change reporting, resilience and adaptation, including nature-based solutions;
+ Participate in and direct multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional and international consulting projects, so they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client and WSP's standards.
+ Achieve and maintain a utilisation target to be agreed with your People Manager and reviewed annually or as determined by specific business need.
+ Undertake project-based travel and site work, working away in the UK, Europe and internationally. The frequency and duration of this will depend on business and client need.

+ Registered Chartered/Professional Engineer or member of a related professional body;

The Industrial Services, Water and Organics division is primarily involved in offering services to water and wastewater treatment plant operators.

The business provides services to municipalities, water companies and private industry throughout Ireland and in the UK.

Due to continued growth, expanded and new contracts, Enva have an extremely exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our Industrial Services and organics team working from our Dublin/Portlaoise office.

This role may suit an engineering or agricultural/environmental science graduate looking to work within the water or wastewater sector, agricultural, environmental consulting and contracting sector or the waste sector.

Key Responsibilities Assist project manager in all duties required to safely, compliantly and profitably manage the daily operations, Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies and other stake holder, monitor projects budgets and programmes, Operations supervision and management, management of sub-contractors Environmental monitoring (e.g.

sampling and analysis) Assist in day to day management of key client contacts, completing project reports and keeping clients up to date as operations progress Ability to solve problems quickly in a fast moving environment Environmental and Agronomic planning and reporting e.g.

Nutrient Management Planning, environmental monitoring Designing and drafting applications for appropriate permissions, waste licences and planning applications Specify and procure plant and machinery and equipment Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Strong engineering (civil, mechanical), Environmental Science, or Agricultural primary degree 0-3 years' experience in the engineering, environmental science, waste industry an advantage.

Agricultural knowledge and experience beneficial Good report writing skills, proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) Strong research and reporting skills Experience managing plant and equipment beneficial Ability in the use GIS/CAD applications e.g Auto CAD and Arc GIS Experience in environmental monitoring and reporting beneficial Ability to quickly understand the technical and operational issues facing the Environmental Services Sector Ability to understand Health and Safety requirements and adhering to company H&S standards Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships within the existing team and amongst clients Strong drive, self-starter and ambition to grow a business and a team Why Work For Enva? You will enjoy working on multiple large-scale projects in the Irish and international markets across a number of sectors.

The successful candidate can work from either of our Irish operational Business Units in Dublin or Cork.

Responsibilities We are very interested in hearing from all candidates who are passionate professionals with the following experience: Involvement in the preparation and management of development consents, compliance and planning strategy for large scale projects Participation in design process for layout, master planning and input or coordination of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) Management of the interaction with multi-disciplinary project teams, clients and stakeholders Liaising with County Councils, An Bord Pleanla (An Coimisin Pleanla) and other statutory bodies as required Experience with engagement with environmental permitting including EPA Licence application process and/or the waste facility licencing process would be beneficial If you have many but not all of the above experience we would like to hear from you as you will be supported by an excellent team of professionals in this role.

Qualifications A minimum qualification Level 8 or Level 9 NEQ qualification (or equivalent) in Planning & Sustainable Development or related Environmental Science/Engineering discipline.

Chartered planner (IPI, RTPI or equivalent) or working towards chartership Relevant experience in the area of planning and environmental management / consultancy.

Knowledge of Irish planning and environmental legislation, policy and practice.

Project Management skills with attentiveness to critical dates and adherence to deadlines Clear and confident verbal & written communication skills.

Excellent knowledge of report preparation (MS Word) and use of MS Excel.

Proven track record of working on your own initiative.
