**Essential Requirements:**

**As part of the QC Team,** this individual will be responsible for supporting QC testing targets and pace in the lab. The QC Technician Specialist role involves the responsibility for equipment troubleshooting on shift, completing weekly equipment PMs, seen as an expert tester, completes batch release activities and drives investigations on shift.
**As a QC Technical Specialist, you will:**
+ Following Good Manufacturing Practice requirements in all aspects of role
+ Trained on all QC stages including Eng testing and Batch Release activities to act as an expert tester.
+ Product testing/ inspection following lab procedures and standards as required
+ Troubleshoots QC equipment issues on shift
+ Completes O/I's, TWI process conformation checks, BOP audits, In solution analysis, NC investigations, 5S audits and sets up certification lenses.
+ Prepares for and Participates in Regulatory and internal audits as directed
+ Recommends and implements revisions, corrections and changes to laboratory procedures, test equipment procedures and test methods when required.
+ Completing QC tasks as directed by QC management
+ Responsible for completing Training requirements in a timely manner
+ Responsible for maintaining personal training records in a compliant manner
+ All employees are responsible for minimising both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform
**Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Level 6 qualification in Quality and or related discipline
+ 3-4 year's experience in a regulated environment is preferable
+ Ability to work in a team environment while meeting daily targets
+ Ability to work on own initiative
+ Flexible work ethic

+ Supporting the safe and efficient operation of BD's microbiology laboratory and ensuring adherence to all requisite health, safety, and quality standards at all times during the operation of these laboratories.
+ To write, maintain and enforce procedures relating to all areas of the microbiology laboratory and its related testing equipment.
+ To assist in training a team of non-scientific staff and facilitate arrangements to introduce professional visitors to the laboratory.
+ To operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform microbiological testing to aid the non-scientific/ software associates
+ To support and contribute to effective execution of audit activities.
+ To assist in identifying and implementing operational procedures up to "best practice" standard in order to optimise use of resources.
+ To co-operate with the relevant staff in developing and leading the introduction of new ideas and technologies
+ Maintain inventory logs, monitor and restock lab supplies
+ Ensure adherence to all codes of and guidelines relating to professional practice and including the maintenance of Quality Assurance standards.

**About you**
Qualifications:
+ Be registered on the Medical Scientists Register - Maintened by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU
+ Possess the fellowship or be eligible for fellowship of the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science (FAMLS) or equivalent.
+ Posses membership or be eligible for membershipof the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science (MAMLS) or equivalent.
Experience:
+ Experience in a Hospital Laboratory Microbiology Setting
+ 2+ years of Satisfactory post-qualification experience.
+ Excellent communication skills including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
