**Role Description**
SMBC is seeking a Network Engineering to providing support to SMBC Americas Division with a responsibility on Capital Markets and Nikko. Responsibilities include network infrastructure and telecom, delivering uninterrupted business operation, performing scheduled maintenance, and ownership of projects and implementations. Main areas of expertise include: switching, routing, security, automations, load balancing, cloud and logistics.
This role will report to the Executive Director Network Engineer
After business hours and weekend work will be required. Work in shift schedule will be expected
**Role Objectives: Delivery**
+ Provide 2nd level support on daily network infrastructure issues reported by Service Now platform.
+ Perform analysis of alerts and events reported by network management platforms and work with senior staff on resolution.
+ Assigned network infrastructure projects.
+ Provide support during system installations across all sites.
+ Provide support to other IT teams on day-to-day support request and during project implementation.
+ Maintain working condition of network infrastructure in Tralee "Telecommunication Rooms" and its associated components.
+ Facilitate meeting with vendors to support network infrastructure components.
+ Undertakes the testing of software, systems, or computer games for errors, identifies source of problems, and proposes solutions.
+ Develops, implements, and documents test plans for IT software, systems.
+ Develops quality standards and validation techniques.
+ Makes recommendations concerning software/system quality.
+ Examines IT system for potential threats to its security and integrity and draws up plans for disaster recovery if security is compromised.
+ Deals with and reports on breaches in security.
**Qualifications and Skills**
+ 5-8 years of professional experience.
+ Strong knowledge in configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco, F5, Gigamon).
+ Strong knowledge of routing protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, NAT, LACP, CDP, UDLD, VPC, DNS, DHCP.
+ Understanding of network design for LAN, MAN, WAN, SD access, SD WAN, WiFi networks.
+ Strong knowledge on troubleshooting networking issues OSI layers 1-7 across data, voice and video.
+ Knowledge on network management platforms: Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, Solarwinds, Logic Monitor, NetBrain.
+ Knowledge on automation via Ansible and Python.
+ Ability to support mixed data, voice, and video networks.
+ Capability of performing and complete tasks and projects independently.
+ Ability to perform copper and fiber cable structure work.
+ Knowledge on configuration and support of cloud infrastructure components.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report on incidents, support tasks and projects.
+ Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Job Description
To maintain site-based control / IT and OT systems. Resolve issues that arise with these systems, lead upgrade projects and ensure compliance with cyber security regulations
**Job Description**
**Main Purpose of Job**
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager to ensure all plant control systems and IT/OT infrastructure is kept up to date and maintained.
Maintain essential IT/OT operations, including operating systems, Mark VIe DCS and HMI servers, Security tools, plant analysis systems (System-1, Valve Aware etc.) Applications, Servers, Software, and Hardware. Protecting data, networks, PLCs and computer systems from breaches and cyberattacks. Monitor networks, analyse traffic, and run incident response.
During outages and when required perform troubleshooting, upgrades and logic changes in the control system (MARK Vie) and support the EC&I team during normal business hours.
**Main Duties**
+ Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard information in IT/OT systems against unauthorised modification, destruction, or disclosure through the regular daily monitoring of Anti-virus and Anti-spam software.
+ Ensure that all work undertaken by site staff or contractor personnel is in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.
+ Carry out maintenance activities as and when required and support and assist EC&I team members in their duties.
+ Write, revise and review IT/OT procedures that are required on site and to help comply with Cyber security regulations and guidelines.
+ Investigate hardware and software on site for potential obsolescence and develop a proposal to upgrade these systems where required. Manage upgrade projects with various internal and external parties.
+ Install, configure, and support software, hardware, servers, DCS and PLC's.
+ Ensure that sufficient back up files are maintained for all site systems.
+ Edit Asset Management system by recording and keeping up-to- date information on all IT/OT assets.
+ Monitor server activity, network activity, security activity, backup activity and disk usage to ensure continuity of service to users; to engage in preventative maintenance.
**Required Qualifications & Characteristics**
+ Bachelor's Degree or in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
+ Training or qualifications with specific PLCs or plant control systems are of benefit.
+ Flexibility to work with a variety of different IT and OT systems that are in use on the plant. Be able to learn new systems that are added to site portfolio.
+ Hands on experience in working with different control systems / PLC / BMS / DCS etc., troubleshooting and maintenance of same.
+ Good communication skills to be able to work across different disciplines and departments.
+ Flexibility to work with a variety of different IT and OT systems that are in use on the plant. Be able to learn new systems that are added to site portfolio.
+ Strong computer MS Office skills (PP, Word, Excel, etc.)
**Desired Characteristics**
+ Experience with working with Cyber security regulations for power stations.
+ Experience in maintenance in an industrial plant (power plant or otherwise).
+ Experience in maintenance planning works, spare parts, timing, work scope definition for contractors etc.
+ Familiar with using / editing computerised maintenance management system.
+ Experience in modifying software logic / code to alter system operation to customer specifications.
+ Project management of control / E&I type projects, budget control, dealing with contractors etc.
