We are recruiting on behalf of a leading financial services organization for a Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in IT Program and Project Governance and hands-on experience with ServiceNow .
The successful candidate will oversee and manage technology projects throughout their lifecycle — from defining objectives, scope, and deliverables, to identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, and creating comprehensive project plans.
The role will lead cross-functional teams, manage resources and budgets, and ensure delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and budget. A significant focus will be on IT Program and Project (IPPM) Governance, ensuring alignment with policies and standards, producing relevant metrics, and preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders, including IT Controls and Audit teams. The position reports to the Director of PMO and IT Governance within the client’s organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery & Management
- Lead the planning, execution, and implementation of projects through all phases, tasks, and timelines.
- Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, funding, and resource requirements.
- Deliver projects in accordance with established project management methodologies.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and utilization.
- Engage and manage stakeholders, including technical subject matter experts, to gather requirements, facilitate communication, and implement necessary changes.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, issue resolution, and deliverable tracking.
- Participate in requirements gathering, design, and testing phases where applicable.
- Resolve or assist in resolving conflicts within and between projects or functional areas.
- Submit change requests and system maintenance logs in accordance with change management processes.
- Ensure project closure activities are completed, including schedule updates, risk/issue closure, and documentation archiving.
IT Program and Project Governance (IPPM)
- Develop a strong understanding of IPPM policies, standards, and governance/reporting requirements.
- Prepare management update presentations and escalation reports.
- Collate and review IPPM metrics (Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators, etc.) from multiple stakeholders to support timely submission to senior management.
- Support and facilitate monthly PMO meetings.
- Contribute to PMO and IT Governance initiatives.
- Mentor junior project managers.
- Conduct process quality reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Proven experience delivering projects involving ServiceNow as a core platform.
- Formal project management expertise and knowledge of project management methodology, SDLC & PLC processes within IT financial services environments.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
- Broad working knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP; SAFe, DAD, etc. preferred).
- Experience managing complex IT processes and projects across multiple business and technical domains.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end IT processes.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and collaborate with business, IT, and vendor partners.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to lead group sessions, including with senior management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Self-starter, able to work autonomously.
- Experience working with technology vendors to implement application, infrastructure, or security solutions.
- 5–7 years’ specialized experience in financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems preferred.
- Business fluency in English
- PMI certification or equivalent advantageous; Certified Scrum Master desired.
- Proficiency in MS Office, strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, MS Visio, MS Project, enterprise resource management tools; familiarity with CMMI, ITIL, COBIT preferred; experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
