This staff grade position is part of a rotational sequence with the opportunity to work across a number of medical and surgical clinical teams, and will involve opportunities to work across a variety of CHI sites, within both in-patient and out-patient settings.
The clinical areas may include Orthopaedics, Burns & Hand Therapy, Neurosciences (Neurology & Neurosurgery), General Paediatrics (in-patient medical & surgical), Neonatology, Neurology, Cardiology, Haematology/ Oncology, and Neuromuscular/ Spina Bifida/orthopaedics.
Essential Criteria: A recognised validated qualification in Occupational Therapy Be registered as an Occupational Therapist with CORU How to Apply & Informal Enquiries Applications for this post must be accompanied by a cover letter, setting out relevant experience that illustrates how the essential criteria listed above is met.

The role begins as a 6-month agency contract, with a high probability of progression into a permanent HSE position, offering stability and long-term career growth.
You will have the support of well experienced Occupational Therapist's with a wealth of expertise across general adult and specialist mental health services.
You will benefit from mentorship, peer support, and ongoing CPD opportunities through a busy Occupational Therapy department with a wealth of expertise across general adult and specialist services.

The Adult Occupational Therapy Service, provide services to the following clinical areas: Community Mental Health Teams Community Rehabilitation Teams Psychiatry of Later Life Teams Approved centre Psychiatry of later life service Approved centres - acute units Mental Health Intellectual Disability Eating Disorder The Occupational Therapy service currently consists of an Occupational Therapy Manager, Senior and Staff Grade Occupational Therapists as well as Occupational Therapy Assistants working across the mental health services.
Role Overview As a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist within the Community Mental Health Team, you will: Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and review of treatment / intervention programmes for service users according to service standards.
Manage own caseload in accordance with the needs of the post.
Collaborate with service users, family, carers and other staff in treatment / intervention planning and in the provision of support and advice.
Plan discharge or transition of the service user between services as appropriate Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries in accordance with local service and professional standards.
Communicate verbally and / or in writing results of assessments, treatment / intervention programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy.
Attend clinics, review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc.
as designated by Senior Occupational Therapist / Occupational Therapist Manager.
Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit as appropriate.
Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
Essential Requirements: BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Previous experience in mental health desirable.
HSE mandatory training completed (or willingness to complete before starting) Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills A collaborative, recovery-oriented, and person-centred approach.
Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.

Reporting relationship The post holder is responsible to the Team Lead or Senior Occupational Therapists supervisor/nominee as appropriate.
Job Summary Specialised Rehabilitation Unit (22 beds across 2 units) Working age adults with enduring mental health difficulties, predominantly those with a diagnosis of psychosis and associated challenging behaviours.
Acute Inpatient (PLL) (14 beds) Community dwelling older adults acute admission to support treatment MH conditions & onward community liaison & referrals.
Hampstead Acute Unit (21 beds) & Hampstead Day Clinic (18 beds) Acute admissions for working age adults with step down into Day Hospital programme.
These posts form part of a wider rotation with opportunities to experience services into Acute Adult Inpatients, Day Hospital and Home Based Treatment Services across Highfield Healthcare Mental Health Services.
Rotational opportunities occur every 9 months and are organised flexibly, taking into account post holders preferences.
