**The Role**
We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Security Engineering to lead and scale a high-performing security engineering team in Cork, Ireland. In this role, you will drive security initiatives across cloud security, application security, network security, and AI security. You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure robust security practices across Proofpoint's technology landscape.

+ Oversee security architecture for network infrastructure, ensuring resilience against cyber threats.
+ Implement zero-trust security principles and network segmentation strategies.
+ AI Security
+ Develop security strategies to protect AI/ML models and ensure data integrity.
+ Address adversarial AI risks and emerging threats in AI-driven environments.
+ Collaboration & Leadership
+ Work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders.
+ Drive security awareness and training programs across teams.
+ Stay ahead of evolving threats and security trends, ensuring Proofpoint remains at the forefront of cybersecurity.
**What You Bring to the Team**
+ Extensive experience in security engineering, to include experience in a leadership role.
+ Expertise in cloud security (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevSecOps practices.
+ Deep knowledge of application security, network security, and secure software development.
+ Experience in securing AI/ML applications is a strong advantage.
+ Proven ability to build and lead high-performing security teams.
+ Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GCIH, GCFA, GCED), or equivalent are highly desirable.
+ Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).
+ Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
