This position is ideal for an experienced professional who combines strong technical knowledge with practical, hands-on problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. At our Neurovascular facility in Model Farm Road, you'll play a key role in leading and developing your team-offering real-time coaching, supporting technical development, and maintaining high standards of quality and output.
**Responsibilities**
- Actively participate in day to day leadership of the business unit, and positively contribute to the Engineering team, driving engagement activities.
- People and performance Management:
- Coach and mentor the engineering group.
- Resource Management
- Lead the continuous improvement activities.
- Drive Manufacturing Loss improvements within the value stream.
- Quality Issues: Identifies, develops and implements processes to improve department performance. Provides manufacturing support by defining work assignments directed to address manufacturing process defects and implement process improvements utilizing Quality System tools.
- Develops and/or identifies new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources within the operations function.
- Engage and participate in supporting the delivery of Business unit's KPI's.
- Oversee the development of operational standards to be used in the plant for capacity evaluations, budget planning and as a basic for operational measures (Key performance indicator).
- Continuously improve the performance of the business by providing technical solutions to operations issues.
- Provide leadership and direction to the business unit on technology development and application within the manufacturing process.
- Support all capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation.
- Provision of out-of-hours support to the business as required.
- Liaise with Area Team Leads, Manufacturing Engineers and Senior Engineers to understand process and equipment down priorities and eliminate recurring issues.
- Liaise with Team Leads and Process / Maintennace Technicians on Equipment PM plans to minimise impact upon production schedule.
- Clear understanding of critical equipment availability metrics planned and unplanned.
- All other duties as assigned.
**What you need:**
+ Level 8 degree in an Engineering or Science discipline.
+ Ideally 4 years relevant experience in a team based regulated manufacturing environment, and ideally previous supervisory experience. Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements and current Health and Safety Regulations legislation.
+ - Proven experience practicing Lean tools.
+ - Business understanding of operations and their impacts essential.
+ - High level of PC skills.
+ - Strong communication skills with both Internal and external agents.
+ - An ability to facilitate a team of engineers to deliver a specific objective.
+ - An above average level of emotional intelligence.
+ - Flexibility essential with strong project management skills.

Provides technical process support to a project or function. This position's primary function is that of ensuring that manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets, that equipment downtime is kept to a minimum, and the manufacturing business is supported in every way necessary to maximize line availability.
**What you will do:**
+ Ensure all maintenance activities and documentation is to GMP standards.
+ Engage in mechanical / electrical / electronic/process troubleshooting, and in resolving hardware /software interfacing problems on the production floor, in collaboration with facilities functions.
+ Develop a technical knowledge of next generation equipment, working with team to ensure all technical issues are identified and eliminated at the earliest opportunity.
+ Liaise with support functions to develop their knowledge of the equipment and ensure a system of continuous, shared learning is in place.
+ Diagnose malfunctioning systems to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
+ Investigate all build failures causing scrap, determine root cause and implement corrective actions across all equipment.
+ Actively interface with cross-functional team members and 3rd party Vendors, always practicing good team work in support of day to day operating requirements.
+ Identifying and assisting the business with the implementation of technical improvements.
+ Repair / troubleshoot systems and processes, identifying root causes on system failures, and implement permanent solutions.
+ Co-ordination of preventative maintenance and calibration activities on assigned lines, processes and / or areas.
+ Provide process and maintenance improvements, initiatives using data analysis & trending reports.
+ Provide technical support to the manufacturing business unit with new product introductions and transitions from other sites as required.
+ Participate in cross functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives.
+ Provide support for equipment procurement and assistance in the execution of installations, validations, FATs, & SATs ensuring equipment added to the business is standardized where possible.
+ Ensure weekly and monthly equipment uptime metrics for the Business Unit are available and that significant downtime is recorded and actioned.
+ Liaising with Production Team Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers on issues relating to productivity, scrap and efficiency performance issues.
+ Ensure compliance to site and divisional maintenance procedures.
+ All other duties as required.
**What you will need:**
+ Certificate/ Diploma in Engineering/Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, toolmaking or related discipline, is required.
+ Calibration: Relevant technical qualification / experience ideally in Instrumentation Process Technology
+ Has 4 years' experience in manufacturing (2 years + experience as a technician)
+ Good knowledge of electronics and software control systems.
+ Entry level experience in a modern manufacturing environment ideally with previous experience in some or all of the following:
- Low / medium voltage electrical power systems
- Pneumatics;
- PLCs;
- Instrumentation
- Hydraulics;
- Calibration;
+ Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage.

As a member of the Site Leadership Team, you will play a strategic role in enabling the company to continue its outstanding levels of performance and arm it to continue its growth into the future.
The Senior Manager, Engineering will lead and manage all site and engineering competency activities. The role involves pioneering engineering best practices, ensuring process & manufacturing excellence, leadership & mentoring. Key to the role is development and delivery of the medium-long term engineering strategy for the site, including but not exclusive to creating capacity, systems' & technology roadmaps to grow the business & meet the need of our Customers.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**
+ Leadership of one or multiple high performing teams, providing technical guidance / direction to the operational and functional areas on site, fostering an environment & culture of proactive continuous improvement, lean, innovation, process excellence and problem solving.
+ Develop a detailed strategy on engineering competency & framework for the Bone & Soft tissue cutting business. Ensure the engineering organisation structure is fit for purpose and implement any changes using an effective change management approach.
+ Provide technical collaboration and engineering alignment in maintaining manufacturing applications and automation systems, in addition, work with global enterprise applications and infrastructure teams to ensure successful implementation of user / business appropriate manufacturing systems.

**Qualifications Knowledge Skills**
+ Degree in Engineering, Science or Business or equivalent field.
