The Role & What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor will have a key role to play as part of the engineering team, with key responsibilities in the areas of equipment maintenance & reliability, also the implementation and development of new engineering technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement maintenance strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives, including establishing and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the reliability and availability of all equipment.
  • Provide strong leadership to the maintenance teams, while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor KPIs for equipment breakdowns & PM's and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements, including FDA and GMP standards and maintain accurate documentation/records to support regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Promote a culture of safety responsibility within the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Engage in Cross Functional Team activities to address and mitigate any root cause problems with preventative maintenance and machine performance.
  • Support the Engineering Department on improvement projects to increase and maintain equipment reliability.
  • Develop Preventative Maintenance methods to minimise mean time between failure and maximise OEE.
  • Train & support engineering technicians to ensure that they are equipped to complete daily operational specific tasks.
  • Technical Writing to include SOP updates & investigation reports.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we're looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or Biotechnology operations/GMP environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment reliability engineering.
  • Technical proficiency - with hands-on experience in maintenance, design and application. Troubleshooting and support, liaising with all stakeholders, Engineering, Operations and Quality daily.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Develop/implement maintenance programs.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project.
  • Self-driven, proactive, & flexible.

With an increase in high value framework contracts and project activity we require a Commercial Director to support the business and contribute to the continuous success and growth. Technical

  • Understand and review client contracts, sub-contract agreements / orders and agree any amendments where required for formal agreement of the same working closely with internal or external legal advisors.
  • Play an active role as part of the Senior Leadership Team in supporting peers commercially and reporting to Group on behalf of the business units.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing cost estimates with the Preconstruction Team as part of the work winning strategy.
  • Reviewing cost reports prepared by project teams including understanding the reported cost forecasts.
  • Analysing WIP reports, highlighting any errors or inconsistencies monthly.
  • Finalising the monthly WIP reports with any exceptions for margin movement detailed.
  • Work with Finance Team to finalise WIP reports into monthly management accounts and report against budgets and targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and reforecast for the business on a quarterly basis, including overheads.
  • Assist in identifying, pursuing and securing new project opportunities to meet budget targets and grow the business.
  • Lead and develop a robust change management process to maximise operational and commercial opportunities.
  • Review delay notices timeously in accordance with the agreed contract. Review extensions of time, loss and/or expense claims.
  • Negotiate the settlement of the contentious final accounts and claims.
  • Pursuing notices or certificates for payment, and the resultant payments that become due, including retentions and overdue debt.
  • Reporting by exception of any matter or event that is likely to affect the forecast outturn of a project.
  • Ensuring cashflow within the region is maximised, set and monitor monthly cash targets and ensure any aged debt or WIP balance position is reported, and actions taken to resolve the issues.
  • Having familiarity and an understanding of the conditions of contract relating to any project ensuring the Businesses rights are preserved and entitlement is safeguarded where practicable.
  • Negotiating, agreeing and placing sub-contract agreements.
  • Assist in identifying, developing and implementing new and current processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance is maintained.

People Management

  • Providing training, presentations and coaching within the Business.
  • Provide guidance and development to other members of the business.
  • Capable of working in a team environment supporting colleagues and providing advice on all commercial matters when necessary.

Job Description

The Red Hat High Availability & Shared Services team, which contributes to the OpenStack project, is looking for an intern with a basic understanding of cloud computing concepts. Based in Dublin, Ireland, our team focuses on shared services which include databases, messaging queues, and testing infrastructure, among other areas.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute directly to the development and maintenance of OpenStack. You'll help troubleshoot issues, write and review tests, validate documentation, and propose solutions that have a real impact on upcoming releases. You will collaborate across multiple domains, using a variety of tools and technologies in real-world environments, while learning industry-standard software such as Jira.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in open source, a desire to learn new skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse technical contexts.

Red Hat's Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, full-time internship based at the respective RH offices (Cork, Waterford, Dublin), with flexible working hours. The expected start date is January 2026.

What you will do:

  • Actively contribute to agile ceremonies, OpenStack platform discussions, and upstream community collaboration.
  • Design and execute tests to validate new features and ensure stability.
  • Support DevOps practices by working with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation tools, and infrastructure automation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of OpenStack.

What you will bring:

  • You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from January till August 2026
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Programming experience with Python and/or Go.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and independently break down tasks.
  • Knowledge of Git and GitHub.
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.

The following are considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of containers and platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Previous contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples on GitHub.
  • General understanding of software testing concepts, including unit, integration, and functional testing.
  • Experience working in Agile environments or on team-based projects using tools like Jira.
