EHS Lead An exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to join a manufacturing team and help drive a strong culture of safety and compliance. The Role Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Lead/Supervisor will support daily operations of the EHS department, lead safety initiatives, and ensure the site meets regulatory and internal safety standards. This is a visible, cross-functional role with responsibility for audits, training, communications, and incident management. Key responsibilities include: Leading day-to-day operations of the EHS function and deputising for the EHS Manager. Reviewing and updating risk assessments, SOPs, work instructions, and the site safety statement. Investigating incidents and near-misses; supporting managers in corrective action implementation. Monitoring safety KPIs and presenting daily metrics to operations leadership. Managing the internal audit program and ensuring audit findings are resolved promptly. Supporting EHS initiatives and site-wide continuous improvement in safety performance. Coordinating training, maintaining the training matrix, and delivering toolbox talks and briefings. Managing emergency preparedness (fire, chemical safety, vehicle movement protocols). Overseeing contractor safety, reviewing documentation, conducting training and audits. Supporting site readiness for external audits and regulatory inspections. The Person You are a self-motivated and detail-oriented safety professional with strong leadership and communication skills. You take a practical, proactive approach to safety and are confident engaging across all levels of a business. You will bring: A Level 8 qualification in Health & Safety or a related field. 1-3 years' experience in an EHS role, ideally in manufacturing or a high-risk environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent administrative, auditing, and reporting capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS software tools.
