As the Field Engineer, you will carry out surveys/ installs and handle tickets assigned to the field team and to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible. You will work closely with the logistics team, your counterparts in the field team and back-office teams. You will ensure excellent levels of customer service is always provided. The role will involve several technical and administrative activities such as analysing data from the trouble ticketing system to determine best action to take, completing documentation after surveys and installs, use of salesforce tool, liaising with various back-office teams, resolving issues efficiently, and responding to customer queries and managing SLA's.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end ownership of all assigned field activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Collaborate closely with the logistics team, fellow Field Engineers, back-office support, and customers to meet KPIs, reduce repair times, improve network reliability, and enhance overall customer experience.
- Actively monitor the ticketing system, promptly taking ownership of open faults in your area.
- Provide real-time updates as tasks progress and manage each issue through to full resolution.
- Perform detailed site surveys and assessments to support new deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve on-site hardware and network faults, using appropriate tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on network infrastructure and implement system upgrades as needed.
- Work closely with network engineers and project managers to meet service delivery milestones and project timelines.
- Manage and track van stock and local rollout inventory; coordinate with logistics to replenish parts as necessary.
- Be based in a defined geographical area, with flexibility to travel across regions as operational needs require.
- Serve as Clerk of Works for Enet switch site installations, ensuring build quality and compliance with standards.
- Participate in the on-call rota for Enet core network support, responding to incidents as required.
- Conduct on-site health checks, proactively identifying and reporting any defects or risks.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager in response to changing operational demands.
- Always ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- 3–5 years' experience as a Telecommunications Field Engineer.
- Third level qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco equipment, including routers and switches.
- Proficient in interpreting technical diagrams, network schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong understanding of IP networking and telecommunications systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly to dynamic situations.

- Configuration assistance both onsite and in IMS connect offices with collaboration from our NOC department to aid with Irish and international project deployments.
- Support and maintenance of IMS connect systems across all client properties while responding within agreed SLAs.
- Work collaboratively with your colleagues in surveying, designing, installing, and delivering network solutions.
- Onsite supervision of preferred partners and sub-contractors in installs
- Stock management – Cooperative management of equipment with the IMS connect procurement officer
- Logistic management to ensure delivery of stock to projects for both clients and IMS connect colleagues.
- Compliance with utilising CRM, documentation, and communication platforms.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 2+ years' experience in the electrical, energy, CCTV, or networking sectors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and complete job related documentation.
- Comprehensive organisational, prioritising, and planning skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and proven high work standards with a focus on quality and consistency of accomplished works.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service and satisfaction is essential.
- Full clean driving licence is essential.
- Solas Safepass or similar CSCS access card.

As we continue to grow, we need a motivated and ambitious Electrical Field Engineer to be based in our Leixlip site in Ireland.
The Electrical Field Engineer supervises and/or performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, installation and commissioning of electrical equipment in Global Operations production facilities; joint venture, and third-party facilities and can have broader responsibilities in these areas requiring expanded technical skills normally gained through formal training, independent study and experience. In addition, greater supervisory and communication skills are required to successfully take care of these requirements.
The Electrical Field Engineers is required to prepare written reports within a reasonable time period after completing an assignment. The reports should include supporting technical information, drawings, spare parts utilised, scope of work, quantity of resources used, key durations, recommendation and feedback, methods, special procedures/tools and any future work.
They will also provide technical support for the commissioning of new plant and equipment. Review and verification of correct installation, function checking, and commissioning of new plant electrical equipment, calibration and acceptance of equipment from contractors and at all times ensure that the required safety standards are made known and adhered to by those working with them.
As our Electrical Field Engineer you will;
- To respond to any major occurrence of electrical breakdown, carry out prompt inspection, analyse the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment so as to assure the minimum loss of production.
- Support plants with maintenance according to the Plant Maintenance programme. This could range from routine maintenance or major overhaul maintenance. This will include working on maintenance shutdowns
- When supervising contractors and/or Air Products staff, ensure that the work is adequately planned and implemented safely at a high level of effectiveness.
- Carry out plant modifications according to central design specification, submit any self-generated design changes to specialist engineers for approval before implementation. For some projects generate scope, cost and obtain Expenditure Approval and implement the work scope.
- Give advice and assistance to Plant Managers and their staff on maintenance matters as requested and drawing when necessary, upon the technical resources and expertise of specialist engineers.
- In association with the Maintenance Systems group, review and update the technical content of the preventive maintenance procedures and to recommend changes where improvements in safety, quality or economy may be effected.
You will have the following skills/experience;
- The Field Engineer must be familiar with the electrical equipment in the facilities served. For example: induction and synchronous motors, protective relays, switchgear, starters, control systems, transformers, generators and distribution systems.
- Technical skills rank higher than supervisory skills in this position.
- Ideally the Field Engineer can troubleshoot more independently, and through experience on operations facilities, has a better understanding of the interrelation between the electrical systems and the process plant equipment.
- Often the Field Engineer is involved in analysing problems and identifying permanent solutions, such as replacement, revision or redesign.
- The minimum requirements for the Electrical Field Engineer's position are: completion of a Formal Electrical Apprenticeship, Tertiary Vocational Qualification to minimum HNC (UK) or equivalent, supplemented by post apprenticeship experience in electrical distribution, equipment protection and controls.
- The ability to read electrical control drawings.
- High voltage and large motor experience is preferred.
- The ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written word.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Field Engineer in an industrial gases operating environment and displayed technical proficiency in dealing with the broad variety of electrical equipment found in our plants would be advantageous.
The Electrical Field Engineer has a very fast paced position. Field Engineers are expected to respond to Operational requirements on a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week basis. For this type of work the field engineer must be completely flexible and readily available. The Field Engineer must be flexible to be called out from a place of work or home to travel to any facility in the UK and Ireland. There may be times when this is required at very short notice in the event of a plant breakdown.

- Resolving Complex Issues: Responding to escalated tickets from the 1st Line Service Desk and troubleshooting technical problems.
- Hands-On Problem Solving: Conducting in-depth analysis to find root causes and deliver lasting solutions.
- Supporting Users: Providing clear, helpful technical guidance to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
- Documentation: Logging incidents and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system for effective tracking and knowledge sharing.
- Monitoring & Preventing Issues: Keeping an eye on system performance, identifying risks, and taking preventative measures.
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing ideas and feedback to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
What we're looking for:
- At least 2 years' experience in a service desk role, with a solid track record of supporting users
- Confidence working directly with clients and building positive, professional relationships
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies
- Clear, friendly, and effective communication skills
