Location: Navan, County Meath Start Date: Flexible Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday) We are currently recruiting for two exciting opportunities within our Acute General Medicine ward: Staff Grade Occupational Therapist (minimum 1 year acute experience) Senior Occupational Therapist (minimum 3 years experience, ideally with acute experience) About the Role You will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team providing high-quality occupational therapy services within an acute general medicine ward. The successful candidates will work closely with patients, families, and the healthcare team to deliver evidence-based interventions that promote recovery, independence, and safe discharge planning. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct functional and cognitive assessments to identify patients' abilities and limitations in activities of daily living (ADLs). Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support recovery, optimize independence, and facilitate discharge. Discharge Planning & Environmental Recommendations: Collaborate with the MDT to ensure timely and safe discharge, including home environment assessments and recommendations for adaptive equipment. Education & Advocacy: Educate patients, families, and carers on strategies for managing functional limitations and advocate for patient-centered care throughout the admission. Requirements Staff Grade OT: BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU registered) Minimum 1 year of acute hospital experience Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Senior OT: BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU registered) Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (acute experience strongly preferred) Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and advanced clinical skills Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently Benefits & Remuneration Staff Grade OT: Up to €72,800 DOE Senior OT: Up to €85,540 DOE Flexible start dates Supportive working environment in a progressive acute care setting Location: Navan, County Meath Start Date: Flexible Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday) We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team within the Acute General Medicine ward. This is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality patient care in a busy hospital setting, working closely with Occupational Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team. About the Role The successful candidate will assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment plans, supporting patients in regaining independence, and ensuring smooth discharge planning. You will play an essential role in helping patients maintain and improve their functional abilities during their hospital stay. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Assist in the delivery of therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) training, including personal care and functional mobility practice. Prepare and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring a safe and organized clinical environment. Document patient progress accurately and communicate effectively with the OT team and wider MDT. Requirements Previous experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
