About the Role

Are you looking for a role with a difference? We are currently looking to hire a Full-Time Care Assistant/Support Worker for one of our day services in Dublin West on a 6 month contract.

Gheel Autism Services offers unique and personalised services which are based on the choices, needs and aspirations of the individual. Our Day Support teams are in the process of working towards a New Directions model of service delivery. This is to suit the individual sensory and support needs of adults with autism.

The Day Supports team provide a tailored style of support in local communities. Practitioners will support and promote the development of independent living skills, education, employment possibilities and social and leisure groups.

As for the people you will be supporting, they are looking for a positive, fun, conscientious, and intuitive individual who will work in partnership with them to achieve and facilitate their goals and wishes. The successful candidate will ensure people are supported with dignity and respect when providing support with intimate care/personal care.

The successful candidate will be patient, understanding, and supportive. You will enjoy encouraging the people you support to progress at their own pace and according to their own needs. You will be innovative in your ideas and solutions in how to support an older population of people to live a meaningful life on their own terms.

The Care Assistant will in conjunction with the work of the Practitioners assist in the development of independent living skills, education and employment possibilities and social and leisure groups.

Essential Qualifications:
