Role Overview

The role of Supply Chain Planner will be to assist the Monaghan Supply Chain team with the implementation of the company's supply chain strategy from source through to the delivery of our finished products.

Main Duties

· Participate and become a dynamic member of the supply chain team, providing support and assistance with daily tasks including administration, planning, execution and problem solving

• Sale Order Administration
• Creating, amending and planning sales orders
• Purchase Order Administration

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join our team at Bunzl Ireland on a maternity leave cover. This pivotal role ensures accurate forecasting and seamless supply of finished goods across our operations. The successful candidate will develop and maintain forecast models, drawing insights from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Replenishment teams. They will also manage supply planning through MRTP systems to maintain exceptional service levels for Bunzl customers.

Accountabilities:

• Supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and contributing to monthly demand reviews.
• Generating periodic forecasts for a large and diverse product portfolio, with a focus on reducing financial risk.
• Driving improvements in forecast accuracy and analysing root causes of forecast gaps.

Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a supply chain function, with a focus on demand and/or supply planning.
• Strong understanding of forecasting and inventory management principles.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills to manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to distil complex data into actionable insights.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

What You'll Do:

As our new Supply Chain Planner you will be accountable for the efficient and effective execution of the Demand & Supply Planning process. Role Overview
The Supply Planner will be responsible for executing all tactical planning activities, including purchase order management and global inventory oversight. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—such as Quality, Logistics, Regulatory, Finance, and Technical Operations—to ensure supply continuity, optimize inventory levels, maintain compliance with industry regulations, and drive operational excellence.

This will be done with targeted customer service levels, forecast accuracy and safety stock for the allocated portfolio of SKUs. Daily, you will manage the ongoing order planning, pushing forward order execution for branches, working collaboratively with suppliers within integration programs. The ideal candidate will be proactive in their approach and have experience of working in a large multi site supply chain environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure product availability in the NDC
• Set and optimise planning parameters
• Identify and address exceptions highlighted by the planning system
• Perform inventory planning, managing parameters and policies within the boundaries set alongside targets set with the Supply Chain Manager
• Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers to confirm production and shipping schedules
• Monitor and maintain open purchase orders to ensure on time deliveries, handling all shipment tracking information
• Manage backlogs and potential bottle necks within the planning cycle
• Interface with sales and logistics to address daily critical situations
• E O management and returns to suppliers
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement integration initiatives such as planning, forecasting and replenishment. This includes direct shipments, logistics integration and cooperative SLAs
• Manage supplier master data for Supply Chain
