Our client a leading Global provider of Specialist Services to the Energy Industry is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a major Data Centre project based at a 100MW Thermal Power Plant in Dublin, with possible further opportunities across sites in Dublin and Athlone.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance on Data Centre, power plant, and rotating equipment.

*Overview of the Role: *

The utilities maintenance technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per client requirements in a safe, efficient and competent manner in line with cGMP and site protocols and procedures

*Day to Day of the Role: *

• All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS and cGMP rules and guidelines; any irregularities to be reported to the Maintenance & Calibrations Lead, Operations Lead or Contact Manager.
• Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Maintenance Lead, Planner and as per site policies, schedules and procedures.
• Troubleshoot problems with utilities equipment as necessary and as directed by site supervisors
• Complete site documentation before and after work tasks, as appropriate
• Liaise with Contractors during planned service maintenance.
• Participate in the appropriate training.
• Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task List steps and ensure these are always kept valid.
• Carry out Periodic reviews of WI's/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.

• Work and interact with the client utilities engineering team

• Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• Mechanical experience, 2 years minimum and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems.

• Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems, Low /Medium Voltage Electrical Systems.

You will be responsible for both decommissioning and commissioning of facilities equipment on both utility and process systems. These systems include, but are not limited to AHU's, Chillers, Boilers, Compressed Air, Scrubbed Exhaust, General Exhaust, Water Treatment and Industrial Waste Systems.

Responsibilities

• Working as a Mechanical Technician in support of a wider multidisciplinary team of skilled Technicians supporting both decommissioning and commissioning activities.
• Generation and execution of documentation to support decommissioning activities on live systems in line with site procedures.
• Generation and execution of commissioning documentation such as OAT's and FAT's (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests).
• Work with operations and engineering teams to develop testing protocols and start-up procedure.
• Carry out QA/QC walks of mechanical systems and equipment and Identify punch list items and rectify prior to start-up.
• Commissioning mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, motors, compressors, boilers, chillers and air handlers.
• Maintain all documentation in an organised and controlled manner, in compliance with client procedures.
• Attend daily meeting and provide status updates.

Skills Required

• Ideally at least 2 years industry experience with a maintenance background.
• Must have a working knowledge of industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems and equipment including fans and pumps, and be knowledgeable in the operation of such systems.
• An ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Literacy in Computer Operating Systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.
